Along with my Goodreads Challenge (you can find my progress on the side bar) I also challenged myself to 2 other challenges for 2015. Every month I will check in with my challenge updates.

Re-Read Challenge

Back in December I signed up for The Re-Read Challenge hosted by Belle of the Literati and So Obsessed With. Honestly I didn’t expect this to be a problem and so far it hasn’t. I’m on track to reach my goal of 12-14 books without a hitch. My April reads:norereadsSadly I did not get any rereads done in April. I started one on audio but I will not likely finish. Here’s to a better month in May!

I also committed the the Flights of Fantasy challenge run by Alexa Love Books and Hello, Chelly. As you may have heard, I am new to the fantasy genre (thank you Sarah J. Maas and Throne of Glass for this!) and I thought it would be good for me to challenge myself with this one. I have decided to do 12 so I only have to read 1 a month. My April fantasy reads:

cruel

Title: Cruel Beauty
Author: Rosamund Hodge
Date Reread: April 16, 2015 – April 19, 2015
Type: Kindle Book

I’m on the fence about this one. I liked parts of it but some I wasn’t crazy about. I also struggled as I read Sarah J. Maas’ book A Court of Thorns and Roses (which I LOVED) first and I couldn’t get the imagery of that one out of my head since the subject matter is so close.

Possible review to come.

Apparently in April I had a hard time with my challenges and reading in general. For the whole month I didn’t read all that many books. I blame this on my vacation. Anyway, here is to May being a better success.

So there you have it, my April check-in. How did you do on your challenges so far?

  1. April was one of my better reading months actually but I know the feeling! This whole year has been somewhat of a reading struggle for me. I’ve done really well on my fantasy challenge actually! I usually read less fantasy even though I love it because I worry about books being too similar. And I fit in one reread under the wire, hoping for more in May also. Happy reading 🙂
