Along with my Goodreads Challenge (you can find my progress on the side bar) I also challenged myself to 2 other challenges for 2015. Every month I will check in with my challenge updates.

Re-Read Challenge

Back in December I signed up for The Re-Read Challenge hosted by Belle of the Literati and So Obsessed With. Honestly I didn’t expect this to be a problem and so far it hasn’t. I’m on track to reach my goal of 12-14 books without a hitch. My June rereads:

froi

Title: Froi of the Exiles
Author: Melina Marchetta
Date Reread: May 18, 2015 – June 10, 2015
Type: Audio Book (it’s a long one)

I almost didn’t read this book. That is my dark confession. And now I have read it twice and have fallen in love with Froi and the land Marchetta created even more than before. I can’t stress enough how Froi is the best literary character ever. Definitely not a series to miss. REVIEW

jessesgirl

Title: Jesse’s Girl
Author: Miranda Kenneally
Date Reread: June 8, 2015 – June 11, 2015
Type: eARC

It had been a while since I first read this one. Actually when I read Jesse’s Girl the first time it had a different title. Either way it was awesome both times around. I love the humor and the characters that Kenneally puts in her books. Not to mention Jesse was adorable. REVIEW

I also committed the the Flights of Fantasy challenge run by Alexa Love Books and Hello, Chelly. As you may have heard, I am new to the fantasy genre (thank you Sarah J. Maas and Throne of Glass for this!) and I thought it would be good for me to challenge myself with this one. I have decided to do 12 so I only have to read 1 a month. My June fantasy reads:

wrath

Title:
The Wrath and the Dawn
Author: Renee Ahdieh
Date Read: May 21, 2015 – June 1, 2015
Type: ARC

I read this book at a poor time as BEA happened in the middle so I took a huge chunk of time off from reading. All in all I really enjoyed it. There are a few slow parts but I liked the story. Excited to see where it will go in the next book. Review to come.

All in all not too bad for June. I did a lot of contemporary reading as I usually do in the summer and not much rereading. I do have plans to read Anna again and Quintana. Oh and Parallel by Lauren Miller. How did you June challenges go?
