Spring Into Your Closet Guidelines

I don’t know if you have been able to tell or not, but I’m kind of a shopaholic. Not Isla Fisher in Confessions of a Shopaholic bad, but still bad enough. I love having new additions added to my closet and I love nothing more then getting a bargain on those new pieces. When I was all of 4 I remember my aunt bringing me to Filene’s Basement and teaching Walk-in-closets-2me about the dates and how to find the items with the best markdowns. Now in my mid thirties I still scour the sale racks first or use coupons and any discount that I can to get the best deal on an item I want/lust over. It’s in my blood not to pay full price unless I have to. With that being said I took a look at my closet and at my March shopping and decided that maybe, just maybe I need to do a month without shopping. Inspired by the Closet Remix Challenge that I have been occasionally following along with on Instagram (#closetremixchallenge) I have decided to do my own challenge. I threw the idea out to my lovely ABCers here and a few of you actually jumped on the chance. Well the time to begin in here, actually tomorrow.

For the month of April you are not to shop at all for clothing, accessories, shoes or bags. What you must do is shop your closet. Look at what you have and pull outfits together. Be inspired by your mood or by other people’s style. Mix colors and patterns and textures. Act like your closet is your own personal department store. Once your clothes have been decided I want pictures taken and posted on Instagram with the hashtag #springintoyourcloset. You can tag me in the post if you would like but isn’t necessary. On about April 15th I will post a check-in of sorts with an outfit or two from each participant so we can help inspire each other for the last half. It is going to be hard but I think we can do it with the support of one another.

So, who’s ready to Spring Into Your Closet?!
