Checking In – Spring Into Your Closet

Posted April 15, 2013 by Andi in Shopping, Spring Into Your Closet / 0 Comments

It’s hard. It is very very very hard, but I’m doing it and I think I’m better for it. I mentioned here and here that I would be shopping only my closet for the month of April. I mean let’s face it, I’m a clothesaloic! I love to have options, options, options. You should see me try to pack for a vacation. I’m the queen of bringing too much stuff. Anyway, doing this has showed me two things. 1) I have enough stuff and creativity(as of right now anyway) to make it a month with what I have and 2) there are some key pieces missing from my wardrobe.

Since embarking on this journey I have done a lot of window shopping and have come to the conclusion that I need lace shorts, an eyelet top, peep toe flats, and more seersucker. I mean having those items will not make my wardrobe complete because that is never going to happen, but I think they would be important staples to have, stuff I would get a lot of use out of, okay, maybe not the lace shorts, but they are just too cute not to have. I also realized I need more light weight sweaters for spring, early summer. So come May expect to see those items on my wish list and on my shopping list.

Okay, back to the challenge. So here we are on Day 16 and I’m twitching to shop, but I’m standing my ground(minus the one purchase I made with a gift card on two items I will not wear until this is all over). I’m staying out of stores if I can and away from the nail polish aisle and all things books. And thankfully I’m not the only one. Angie. Kristin, Amanda and Laurie have all been participating right along with me. Some have posted outfits on Instagram under the hashtag #springintoyourcloset and some are moral support. Either way it is fun not to do this alone. Below are a sample of outfits that have been posted up until now. Keep up the good work ladies! Only 14 days to go!
