Not going to lie, I’m an NKOTB fanatic. I can’t help it, I have loved them since I was in the 3rd grade and was devastated when they disbanded. But as I am sure you are all aware of, they have made a huge huge come back in 2008 and have been going strong ever since. After their first year back on tour I made the decision to spend the money to join the fan club. Since doing that I have gotten some great seats at some great shows, one being the show at Fenway Park where I got to sit on the actual field. And let me tell you something, that is one memory I soon won’t forget. To say it poured rain would be a massive understatement of the monsoon like conditions at times during the concert. But even with the rain and all, the show went on and what a fantastic show it was. The guys put their heart and soul into that show and didn’t disappoint their fans at all. I don’t know if it was the setting, the crowd, or the rain itself, but that concert was magic and a memory I will keep with me forever. Not to mention the kick ass hoodie I got at the show that I proudly rock to this day.
So when this year the guys came out with a new CD and there were murmurings about a special box set I put off all plans to pre-order the CD to see what the box set would be, and man did I hit the jackpot. Not only did you get an early digital copy on the new CD 10, and an early PDF of the picture book that would be included in your box with an actual copy of the CD, but you also got a piece of the banner that hang on the Green Monster on that fateful night, a set of coasters with the guys on them, a certificate of authenticity and the pièce de résistance, the DVD of the Fenway show. Major score I tell you, major score.
Well the box arrived this weekend and oh man, it was everything I wanted and more. I’ve already watched the DVD and it is amazing and I can’t wait to watch it again. It was worth every single dollar I have given this group this year alone and I have never been happier with a purchase made for the love of music.
Who do you love that much in music that you have no problem going above and beyond spending wise? What was the best concert you have ever been to?
