1) Stephanie Perkins – I feel like people won’t read her outside of YA lovers because of the titles of her books so she doesn’t get the love she deserves. I have told my mom and friends repeatedly to read it to no avail. They all say they’re not reading something like that. Sigh. It breaks my heart.
2) Colleen Clayton – I don’t feel like enough people know about her and her amazing first book, What Happens Next.
3) Jennifer Brown – Her books should be on teen summer reading lists for every school. She hits the issues that teens deal with and she hits them right.
4) Tiffany Schmidt – At a time where there were a lot of cancer books out I think people have failed to see the amazingness that was Tiffany’s debut novel.
5) Lauren Miller – Lauren’s book Parallel sometimes gets lost in the parallel life explosion of books that came out at once. People fail to realize that her book is very different from the other ones and is a standalone!

6) Corrine Jackson – I barely hear people discussing her novel If I Lie which was amazing and spot on in terms of emotion. Show her some love people!
7) Nina LaCour – I loved both of Nina’s books yet no one ever remembers to put them on a must read list and that should stop now!
8) Tabitha Suzuma – Tabitha is an author from the UK so it is easy not to give her the love she deserves. But she is also a fantastic writer and isn’t afraid to go there. Her book Forbidden is still stuck with me.
9) Jenny O’Connell – She has written some great YA and some fun chick lit books that people tend to miss. Book of Luke is one of my faves.
10) Rebecca Serle – She wrote one of my favorite takes on Romeo and Juliet from neither one’s POV. She has a new book coming out in March so I’m hoping she starts to show up on some TTT lists.

Great list and Yes Forbidden and Tabitha do need way mor elope, that book will forever be a part of me. Its a shame that your mom and her friends wont read Perkins books, they are the perfect antidote when you are having a bad day, week, year. They make you Happy!!!!

Thanks for stopping by my TTT!

  2. Lovely list! I’ve been meaning to buy to some by Jennifer brown. I’ve seen a lot of the books on your list at bookstores but I’ve never bought them. Thank you for the rec!

        • They are all different. Depends on what issue you want to tackle first. Hate List is a school shooting aftermath, Bitter End is an abusive relationship, Perfect Escape is about a girl with an OCD brother and her newest Thousand Words is about sexting. My favorite has been Hate List with Thousand Words next followed by Perfect Escape and Bitter End closely together.

*facepalm* I haven’t read most of these. But The Enchantments is in my scary big TBR pile. That counts, right?

  4. If I Lie was amazing. I read that earlier this year and was really glad I’d picked it up.

Thanks for stopping by my TTT! šŸ™‚

  5. I actually have a book by Jennifer Brown checked out right now, but haven’t read it (or any of her others) yet. I usually have to be in the mood for tough topics.

  6. I forgot to add I really liked Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. It’s one of the only books besides Anna & the French Kiss that I’ve read in a day. I really need to read the follow up book to this one.

  7. Okay first off – the “something like that” comment re: Anna and the French Kiss? *SIGH* I hate those types of comments, tbh. šŸ™

Stephanie Perkins definitely needs more love outside the YA circle – her books are just generally fresh and fun and good. Can’t wait for Isla!

Also – Parallel is a standalone?! Okay that one just got bumped WAY up my TBR pile.

Thanks for stopping by my TTT! šŸ™‚

    • Parallel is a standalone. Words right out of the author’s mouth. It’s very different from the other parallel life books too. I really enjoyed it.

  8. Stephanie Perkins should definitely get more attention! I loved her debut novel. I also really want to read What Happens Next! šŸ˜€
