Top Ten Tuesday – Cover Trends

When I read what today’s Top Ten Tuesday was I slightly started to panic. I’m terrible at these cover trend things. With covers changing from hardcover to paperback, from ARC to final cop, from US edition to international edition, it’s really hard to keep track. So I decided to do the cover trend but with an Andi spin. The one thing I have noticed is a lot of frilly/dramatic/formal dresses showing up on YA covers. As the shopping fanatic that I am I love this. So it got me thinking. I didn’t want to start digging for 10 covers with these dresses. Instead I wanted to find dresses I think would fit the cover trend. Below are examples of 3 books that fit the trend. Below that are 10 dresses or scenes I think would fit for the fancy dress cover trend. What dresses could you see being on the covers of upcoming YA books?

  1. Very cool! Imagine if that was your job – to find dresses for book cover models?! haha, I think you’d rock it. 🙂 My favorite is the one underwater! I could totally see that on a cover.

  2. Love your spin on this week’s TTT! All the dresses you selected are stunning! I think the very last red one is my fave but that emerald green dress is a very close second!

  3. I heart you for making this about fashion. I adore the emerald dress and the turquoise one – the latter could totally be one of those underwater covers. I also really like the beaded bodice on the nearly stripped girl. =) Great choices (they’re very similar to my wedding dress, so of course I was going to love them).

  4. I have a whole board on Pinterest dedicated to “Fabulous Dresses” so I love this! You definitely chose some great dresses that would look beautiful on a book cover!
