Top Ten Tuesday – Top Ten Series I Would Suggest to Non-Series Readers

Posted August 5, 2014 by Andi in Top 10 Tuesday / 0 Comments

Let’s face it, YA is filled with series. Everything seems to have a 2nd part or a 3rd part or even a 5th or 6th. It is a commitment that not everyone really wants to make. I know I struggle with this and imagine others do to. So after much back and forth with today’s TTT I decided to go with series that are worth the commitment for people that are scared of series in general. What series are your favorites that you would recommend?

  1. I’ve read almost all of these, are you proud of me?! haha Of course the contemporary series, but also the Divergent and Delirium series too. You know I have Pivot Point to read soon (yay!) and I’m attempting Throne of Glass. I used to be all about the series, but then it became so daunting to get through them all.

Again you remind me that I have to try Miranda Kenneally. Noted! So question: Since you have the books listed as a series does that mean I should read them in order?

  3. So many great series…how will I ever have time to read them all! 😉 Of course, as you know, I am a HUGE fan of the Gayle Forman, Sarah J. Maas, Stephanie Perkins series. BUT…I really want to read the Miranda Kenneally, Kiera Cass and Jenny Han series as well! Great list!

  4. I like your topic choice this week! Series can be intimidating to me sometimes, but I’ve been better at stopping in the middle of one if I am not liking it. Pivot Point was amazing, and I can’t wait to read Split Second. I keep putting off Anna and the French Kiss, but one day it will happen! 🙂 Divergent and Jenny Han’s Summer series are both on my TBR list as well.

    Great list!

  5. Great topic! I’ve read a few of these and have been meaning to read the rest. I’ll have to remember this list when I’m in the mood for a series again; I’ve been in a standalone groove lately.. that’s very unlike me; I’m a series kind of girl.

  6. Veronica keeps trying to get me to read Keaneally… I think it was Racing Savannah that she gave me. I ended up giving it back without reading… Oops 😛

But I wholeheartedly agree with the Divergent trilogy and the ToG series – even though ToG will be six books. That’s one series that could have 20 books and I wouldn’t even complain one bit xD

  7. The Divergent trilogy – I shall never finish it. 🙁 I am still so upset about that ending, and I’m terrified to even watch the final movie. Completely agree about If I Stay, Pivot Point, Altered, Anna, and Hundred Oaks! I would definitely recommend Bloodlines, JLA’s books, and Cinder too! 🙂

  8. I thought the ending of Delirium was excellent so I’m really, really reluctant to read the other books in the trilogy. I just don’t want to spoil something that I thought ended pretty perfectly. That sounds so dramatic, when I actually type it out ;D
