What is Stitch Fix? Stitchfix.com describes themselves as “a personal styling service. You tell us your style, size, and budget preferences, and we send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. Each Fix is unique and hand-picked just for you.” And that is pretty accurate. Basically in Andi terms, you go onto their website, fill out an extensive survey about your fashion likes and dislikes, your sizes and skin tones, basically anything that can give the stylist a picture of who you are with them having never met you. After you do this you pick a date, pay $20.00 and wait patiently for your box to arrive. Each box will have 5 pieces of clothing/accessories based on what you selected in your survey. When your “Fix” arrives, you try on your items and decide what you want to keep or send back. If you keep everything you will save 25% off your total dollar value, minus the $20 you already spent. If you keep 1-4 items you take $20 dollars off that total. If you keep nothing all you will lose is for $20 fee and you are free to schedule another “Fix”. It’s easy to send everything back as you get a pre-addressed envelope that you pop in the mail 3 business days after receiving.  Stitch Fix has a great FAQ section that you can check out here if you are interested in finding out more.

Fix #4

I got my 4th “Fix” in the mail on September 5th. It had been a while since I had gotten a “fix”, June to be exact, so I was really excited to see what my stylist picked for me. I had been to a book signing after work so I had to wait and the suspense killed me. But when I got home I was finally able to open it. The first thing I noticed the box was really heavy which is unusual, so my curiosity was peeked. And then I looked inside. Let’s see what I got.

fix4.1

Hourglass Lilly – Adam Geo Printed Shift Dress

I HATED this dress. The print wasn’t bad. I actually liked it when I pulled it out of the package and thought it was a shirt. And then I saw the whole thing. Between the color, the indecent length and the awful sleeves, I felt like I was in a nightgown. It was just awful, awful, awful

Keep? A HUGE NO.

fix4.2

Just USA – Anjuli Dark Wash Denim Jacket

There wasn’t anything hugely wrong with this item. It fit somewhat okay, although the arms were a little wonky, but it wasn’t anything fantastic. Since I have 2  or 3 other denim jackets in about the same wash there was just not nee for it.

Keep? NO

 fix4.3

Pomelo – Abi Colorblock Maxi Dress

I wanted to love this. I mean it is totally my kind of item. I love the color combo and I’m a huge maxi dress fan. But this was a big ole catastrophe on me. It was way too low cut and it was so tight under the bust that it wasn’t wearable even for a photo. Plus it was too long.

Keep? No

fix4.4

Market and Spruce – Pegah Striped Long Sleeve Shirt

Not sure what to say other than I felt like I was wearing a bib, the sleeves were terrible, and the style not eve close to being me.

Keep? Not happening.

fix4.5

Level 99 – Veda Cargo Skinny Pant

I have been clamoring for a pair of olive skinny pants for so so long so I was beyond excited to see them finally arrive in a shipment. They were a little pricey ($128) but I was going to ignore that fact if they fit and were perfect. Sigh. They were not. They were too long for me and they fit awkwardly in the thigh. There was no way to make them work especially for the cost.

Keep? Sadly nope.

fix4.7fix4.6

There really was no decision that need to be made with this fix. 5 items, all ill fitting (so much so I couldn’t even take pictures wearing them!!!) and one depressed Andi. Stitch Fix let me down this time. Am I ready to throw in the towel and call it a day? Not yet. I’m going to tweak my profile some and go for winter items. I still  think it is a great service, I just need some more constancy and to be wowed. Stay tuned.

  1. My second-to-last box was just okay and the last one was like this…a TOTAL miss. I am thinking I might not try again…sigh! The first few I got were beyond perfect. Not sure what happened.
