What is Stitch Fix? Stitchfix.com describes themselves as “a personal styling service. You tell us your style, size, and budget preferences, and we send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. Each Fix is unique and hand-picked just for you.” And that is pretty accurate. Basically in Andi terms, you go onto their website, fill out an extensive survey about your fashion likes and dislikes, your sizes and skin tones, basically anything that can give the stylist a picture of who you are with them having never met you. After you do this you pick a date, pay $20.00 and wait patiently for your box to arrive. Each box will have 5 pieces of clothing/accessories based on what you selected in your survey. When your “Fix” arrives, you try on your items and decide what you want to keep or send back. If you keep everything you will save 25% off your total dollar value, minus the $20 you already spent. If you keep 1-4 items you take $20 dollars off that total. If you keep nothing all you will lose is for $20 fee and you are free to schedule another “Fix”. It’s easy to send everything back as you get a pre-addressed envelope that you pop in the mail 3 business days after receiving.  Stitch Fix has a great FAQ section that you can check out here if you are interested in finding out more.

Fix #5

I got my 5th “Fix in mid November and I must admit I was nervous. If you remember correctly my 4th one was an EPIC FAILURE. But I had credits so I decided to try again. I didn’t have high hopes going in and I think that actually helped when I finally got my box. I had requested sweaters since it is about to get really cold up in Boston. And I also said I recently liked elbow patches. Let’s see what I got.

41 Hawthorn – Aspen Boat Neck Stripped Cotton Tee

I’s a stripes fan so I was thrilled when I saw this piece. I liked the button detail on the shoulders a lot and that it is long enough to wear with skinny jeans. I also liked the looser fit too.

Keep? MAYBE. I have a few shirts similar, but we’ll see.

Kensie Jeans – Johnny Skinny Jeans

These fit me like a glove. They were the perfect length and waist. And The wash was awesome too. I basically loved everything about them.

Keep? DEFINITELY

TCEC – Doelle V-Neck Button Up Cardigan

I love boyfriend cardigans. They always look so nice with a skinny pant. And the color of this one was gorgeous. Not to mention it has pockets and goes so well with the navy shirt and jeans.

Keep? STRONG POSSIBILITY

Skies are Blue – Debby Metallic Detail Pullover Sweater

I wasn’t crazy about the metallic when I saw this in the box. It didn’t really appeal to me. But then I tried it on and I could kind of seeing it working. It is subtle enough and the sweater is light so perfect for layering.

Keep? POSSIBLE.

Pixley – Josie Sequin Elbow Patch Cardigan

Um, cardigan? Check. Grey? Check. Sequin Patch Elbows? DOUBLE CHECK.

Keep? YES. YES. MORE YES.

So now you are wondering what I kept and didn’t keep I’m sure. You know, I toyed with it for a while. I even chatted with Estelle about it and sent her a pic or two. But when it came down to it I wanted the jeans and the Sequin Elbow sweater so much that I had to make the call that was the most feasible money wise.

So what did I decide???

I GOT THEM ALL. Looks like I’m not giving up on Fixes just yet.

  1. I really LOVE the conclusion of your Stitch Fix adventure this time around Andi! And I have to say – all of the items looked GREAT on you 😉 I’m especially fond of the cardigan, and the sweater with the elbow patches!

  2. I have to admit I’m really jealous because I HATED my last fix. I think you were incredibly smart to keep this whole box. These are also super practical pieces–I find I can never have enough stripey shirts or cardigans. I especially love the cardigan with the sequin elbow patches. Hope you enjoy wearing all your new clothes!
