I’m not a huge fan of the “winter” beers. I think it is mostly because I hate winter. But with the topic of this month being winter I had to suck it up and try some stuff. Last week Estelle mentioned a beer that I thought would be my choice for the week. I went out, bought a six pack and was good to go and get my try on. But that same night I went out with a few friends and saw a beer on the holiday drink menu and on a whim ordered it. Guys…I now have a winter beer I love!
The Beer
Cranberry Ginger Shandy by Leinenkugel. It’s good guys! Really good! It is a wheat beer which I have become very found of, with cranberry and a hint of ginger. I know when you hear ginger you think it could be over powering, but it isn’t. It is delicate and really the cranberry is the star of the beer. I find them to be a tad sweet which I like and the go down easy with a 4.2% ABV. They are available from November through February and they are included in the Winter sampler pack or you can buy a case on your own (spoiler, I bought a case!) A beer I would definitely recommend to get through dreary, cold, winter months. Other winter beer suggestions: Harpoon UFO Gingerland, Sam Adams White Christmas
The Book
Love on the Lifts by Rachel Hawthorne. I love this book so much. It was just fun and cute and a quick read. It had snow and romance and misunderstandings. It is the kind of book you want to curl up with by a fire with a warm cup of hot chocolate. It is 100% a Winter book and one of my favorites of Rachel Hawthorne’s. Definitely recommend it.

That shandy sounds amazing!
I REALLY liked this beer! And I don’t even like cranberry OR ginger haha!! I actually got the sampler pack which came with two other beers that I hated and they’re all still sitting in my garage fridge LOL. Whoops. This shandy was super yummy though! I wish I had more.
