Welcome to the revamped ABCs.  In the past I have used this weekly Wednesday post as a link up but times are a changing. I’m switching things up as you have learned HERE.

Today we have Kas from Urban in Suburbia sharing with us the accessories, books and clothes she is lusting after.

Now let’s give a warm ABCers welcome to Kas!

Accessory
Erica Sara Designs – Run Ring
I never considered myself a runner. I grew up as an overweight child into an overweight adult and in 2010, I decided to get my health back into action. Working with a nutritionist, I lost a lot of weight (87lbs!) and I decided to take up running as another way to keep fit. Growing up in NYC, I always wanted to run the New York City marathon, the biggest marathon in the world! And I did – twice, in 2012 and 2013. In between those two marathons, I have run countless races in other distances. And this year I’m training for my fourth marathon in May. And when I first started to run, I never considered myself a “real” runner. Because I foolishly believed, a real runner is someone who runs a marathon in under 4 hours or ran a certain pace. I know now, a runner is someone who runs. If you run, you’re a runner. That’s it. And this ring reminds me of that.

Book
Last Train to Babylon by Charlee Fam
The Last Train to Babylon was a book I came upon by happenstance. It is not a book I would typically read. It is dark, edgy and twisty and a complete page turner. It deals with a lot of mature issues and is very realistic in that sense as I am sure others have had to make some of those same tough decisions that the main character, Aubrey has had to make. The book runs the gamut of emotions – at times I really felt compassion for her and other times, I wanted to reach into the book and shake sense into her. Living on Long Island myself, I can tell you that there is no last train to Babylon (ever) but if you ever get stuck on the late night “drunk” train, it can be highly entertaining!

Clothing
Free People Beaded Mesh Slip Dress
I saw this slip dress while shopping with my mom earlier this week and fell absolutely in love with it. I didn’t get it at the time, but I keep thinking about it. And I am of the firm belief that if you keep thinking about something after awhile, then you just have to get it. I think it is really versatile – with a tank and leggings and boots, or a slip and stockings and heels. It’s just so, so beautiful. I think I will be ordering it really soon in the plum color!

Thanks so much for having me Andi! This was a lot of fun!

  1. I really need to read that book! I met the author at a party during BEA and she was just the nicest and I liked her pitch for her book.
