Along with my Goodreads Challenge (you can find my progress on the side bar) I also challenged myself to 2 other challenges for 2015. Every month I will check in with my challenge updates.
Back in December I signed up for The Re-Read Challenge hosted by Belle of the Literati and So Obsessed With. Honestly I didn’t expect this to be a problem and so far it hasn’t. I’m on track to reach my goal of 12-14 books without a hitch. My January reads:
Title: Anna and the French Kiss
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Date Reread: January 1, 2015
Type: Hardcover
I read this book 10 times. You all know my thoughts on it. You all know how much I love it. You all know how I want to read it 10 more times. It is just the epic feel good book and I’m proud to call it my favorite.

Title: Open Road Summer
Author: Emery Lord
Date Reread: January 5-7, 2015
Type: Audio
I loved Open Road Summer the first time I read it. It is one of those books you just want to hug when you are done. This time I decided to do the audio and it was just as good the second time around. In fact listening to it made me just want to read it again.

I also committed the the Flights of Fantasy challenge run by Alexa Love Books and Hello, Chelly. As you may have heard, I am new to the fantasy genre (thank you Sarah J. Maas and Throne of Glass for this!) and I thought it would be good for me to challenge myself with this one. I have decided to do 12 so I only have to read 1 a month, but I’m off to a great start. The full reviews for this books will be coming soon.
Title: Red Queen
Author: Victoria Aveyard
Date Read: January 5-8, 2015
Type: eARC
A little Hunger Games meets Divergent at the end, but enjoyable. Some holes in the story but I still became addicted and needed to know how it would end. And end it did. Now I need book 2.

Title: Grave Mercy
Author: Robin LaFevers
Date Read: January 23-26, 2015
Type: Paperback
I fought reading this one until I was basically book bullied into it by like 16 bloggers and 1 author and it was gifted to me. I will say, I’m glad you are all so persistent. I really enjoyed it and LOVE Ismae and Duval.

January Post Wrap-Up
So there you have it, but January check-in. How did you do on your challenges so far?
Sounds like you’re doing great so far! I’m doing pretty good with my challenges too. Despite telling myself that I was going to take it slower this year, or maybe because there’s less pressure as a result of that, I’m actually excelling at my challenges.
I have to ask though, because I loved Open Road Summer too, in the audiobook are the lyrics sung or just read?
The lyrics are just read if I recall correctly. (I listened while at work)
You make me want to buy Open Road Summer in audiobook. I’ve come to love audiobooks. and I want to re-read Anna this year too. I’ve only re-read it a total of 3 times so I’m waaaaay behind your record. Lol.
It amuses me that we were all able to convince you to read Grave Mercy (and I’m so happy you liked it). Now you need to read Dark Triumph to meet my beloved Sybella and Beast <3
It doesn’t surprise me at all that Anna and ORS have been your first two re-reads. I know you so well, my friend. 🙂 Glad to see you’re reading the His Fair Assassins trilogy! Book 3 is my favorite, but Beast is amazing. <3 Enjoy!
Yay for being on track for the Re-Read Challenge! Andddd I love how you made Open Road Summer look like a CD since it was an audiobook – so clever 🙂
