Pub Date #10

pubdate

Today is my turn to contribute to the fabulous feature, the brain child of Brittany at The Book Addict’s Guide, where myself, Brittany, Estelle at Rather Be Reading and Maggie at Just a Couple More Pages are paring books and beer. Pretty perfect for a bunch of beer and book lovers if you ask me.

This month for Pub Date our theme is nature. In the fairness of full disclousure I should tell you I was more focused on next month, as it came at a prefect time, than I was on nature. But by stretching the theme a tad I came up with something without even realizing I was coming up with something. I drank 2 fruits beers (one was a cider) on Sunday and since fruit is sometimes called Nature’s Candy…Well you can see where I’m going with this.

The Beer (s)
Wachusett Brewing Strawberry White (4.75% ABV): This was very very good. I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this one. I mean I love a good fruit beer but I don’t think I have ever had a strawberry one. White Beers can also sometimes taste a little harsh, but the strawberry was a really nice offset to that. Honestly I would consider getting a full 12 pack of this for the summer.
Crispin Cider Blackberry Pear Cider (5% ABV): This one took me a little by surprise. When I ordered it I didn’t know it was a cider. I saw blackberry and was in. But it actually turned out to be good. It was really light. And the blackberry, pear and cider were all really complimentary to each other. I was a little shocked at the higher ABV, but it wasn’t over the top. This too would be good for summer.

The Book
A Court of Thorns and Roses – Sarah J. Maas: This book starts in the middle of the words so to me it screams nature. Actually a good chunk of ACOTAR takes place in nature so there really was no other book for me to selected. Oh and it is fantastic and out next month.

And there you have my Pub Date. I will be hosting this lovely feature every few weeks and would love for you to stop by and share a pint with me…or at least tell me what you are currently enjoying. Make sure you follow along with Brittany, Estelle and Maggie too. You never know when you will find your new favorite beer.

I don’t love fruit beers, but I am so intrigued by both of these. I love strawberries and blackberries. I’ll have to look out for these. And I’m excited for A Court of Rose and Thorns (it comes out on my bday!). I started to read it a few months ago, but then decided I would wait until closer to the pub date (book pub date, not beer pub date :)).
