Today is my turn to contribute to the fabulous feature, the brain child of Brittany at The Book Addict’s Guide, where myself, Brittany, Estelle at Rather Be Reading and Maggie at Just a Couple More Pages are paring books and beer. Pretty perfect for a bunch of beer and book lovers if you ask me.

I admit to slacking some with this Pub Date post. It seems like time just seemed to get away from me and before I knew it it was time for me to get a beer for this weeks theme of Horoscope/Sign and I just failed. I wasn’t able to get to the liquor store nor was I able to try any new beer.

But  the show must go on.

422817_original-jpgI did some digging into my sign, LEO (the lion, not Dicaprio), and found out it is a fire sign. To be honest I’m not all that into astrology and signs and horoscopes. I’ve gone and gotten my cards read, skeptically, and have read my horoscope here and there when I was younger. It just isn’t my thing. But when doing my research I learned that fire signs are  creative and I liked that trait. I mean just look at my blog. You have to have some type of creativity to run one.

Anyway I started to think about fire when it came to beer and I remember my trip to Hawaii in 2010 and the beer I tried there, Fire Rock by Kona Brewing Company. What is more perfect than that??

Fire Rock Pale Ale (Kona Brewing Company): Admittedly it has been a long time since I have had this beer but I remember liking it a lot. I’m a fan of pale ales to begin with and this one had a nice citrus taste to it which is another thing I like. It was also locally brewed so that was a high point too. The alcohol percentage is at 6% ABV which was high for me the time I was drinking these, but not too heavy in the long run. I’m not sure what I would compare it to because like I said it has been a while, but definitely one I would suggest trying.

The Book:
The book was the easy part. Actually I should say books because it is a whole series I am telling you about today and I think it fits in PERFECTLY with the theme of Fire and Creativity.

rule jet rome nash rowdy asa

The Marked Men series by Jay Crownover.
I have read 4 of these so far and can’t wait to read the rest to be honest. They are hot and fun and all either tattoo artists, tattoo lovers or in love with a tattoo enthusiast. What better fit for creativity and fire then sexy tattoo boys?? I can’t think of any. A definite series to read if you want to jump into the land of New Adult or what some book crack. Currently Rome is my favorite, but I have Rowdy up next and I have high hopes for him. I mean look at his book cover??? SWOON!
