An Apology from a Bad Blogger

Posted December 28, 2015 by Andi in General / 6 Comments

I have been a sucky blogger this month. There, I said it. Actually I have been a bad blogger for the last 2 months, maybe even the last half of the year. I’m not sure what it has been but I have been lazy and I don’t like it. I have been reading (this month aside) but I haven’t been writing reviews. I have been getting ideas and I haven’t been using them. I have had time to post and I haven’t used that time. For this I want to apologize to all my ABCers that have still been stopping by and checking my posts (or lack there of).

Currently I have 7 books that I read in 2015 that I wanted to review. 7 books that I should have reviewed and didn’t. I know that isn’t a ton but to me that is a lot and a failure worse than missing my Goodreads challenge (which I did by A LOT!). With 2016 creeping up on us quickly I am going to start fresh. I am going to either write mini reviews or no reviews at all for those 7 and change my habits. I am going to try to go back to the time when I would review after reading a book before picking up a new one. That is my goal for 2016 and I hope I can stick with it.

I do have some great stuff coming up in 2016. I have my Stats Survey, my end of year survey hosted by Jamie at The Perpetual Page Turner and I’m on the blog tour for Passenger, Firsts, The Winner’s Kiss and Shade Me. Plus I have the ABCs with a character edition for Natalie Blitt’s debut, The Distance from A to Z and a new Pocket Letter swap. And then there is ALA and my 3 year blogiversary which will include a mystery giveaway of stuff I currently love. I’m excited for the fresh start and I once again thank you for sticking with me and my laziness. 2016 will be the year I get back on blogging track.

Until then here are some of my Instagram photos from my personal/blog account and my planner account so you can see what I have been up to:

  1. Honestly, this is the time of year when there’s just so much to do and so many people to see and so many occasions to celebrate, so I can totally understand not having much time to dedicate to blogging or even reviewing books! (I’m guilty of having a backlog right now too). But new year, new start, so go you! (PS – Can’t wait to see you in a week or so!)

  2. No apology necessary! I think it’s totally okay to take a break and take stock. I’ve barely read the past two months and I refuse to feel bad about it, my brain clearly needed a break. That being said, I want to write reviews right after finishing a book too; that way I can build up a backlog of posts because I’ve been slacking myself. Sounds like you will have a great 2016 ahead!! 🙂
