Along with my Goodreads Challenge (you can find my progress on the side bar) I also challenged myself to 3 other challenges for 2016. Every month I will check in with my challenge updates.
Love at First Page and Gone with the Words 2016 Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge. You can find out all the details you need to know HERE. There are different levels to this challenge and I decided to go for the grand slam level. So far so good. Right now I have 5 reads under my belt.
Title: The Distance from A to Z
Author: Natalie Blitt
Dates Read: January 2 – 3
Thoughts: I loved love love this book. It was everything I needed to start my year off on the right note. Natalie did a fantastic job of bringing all the things I love about contemporary romances and putting them all in one book. You can find my review HERE. Also don’t forget to post your reviews on Amazon as Natalie is writing and epilogue when we reach 100! Suggestion…READ THIS ONE!
Title: The Game Plan
Author: Kristin Callihan
Dates Read: January 6 – 7
Thoughts: This may have been my favorite of the series. I loved this story a lot (minus some unnecessary drama). Dex and Fiona had a great chemistry that was unexpected and natural. I basically devoured this book and I’m not sorry. Definitely a series to check out.
Title : The Score
Author: Elle Kennedy
Dates Read: January 14 – 15
Thoughts: LOVED LOVED LOVED Dean! Seriously the dude was a mess and crazy and I loved him to pieces. He can do no wrong in my eyes. Basically this book was amazing. It made me laugh out loud a lot (I actually still laugh thinking about some parts)! It was really the perfect 3rd book in the series and probably my favorite. You can find my review HERE.
Title: Caged in Winter
Author: Brighton Walsh
Dates Read: January 21 – 22
Thoughts: My feels! I’m so happy I was “forced” to read Caged in Winter. It was really well written with a fantastic plot. Cade is so swoony and Winter is just so closed off. I loved how these two opposites became a whole. It was a really great book for sure. Definitely happy to have read it.
Title: Tess Ever After
Author: Brighton Walsh
Dates Read: January 23 – 25
Thoughts: Jase was even more amazing than Cade was in book one. He and Tessa were a great pair. I mean it didn’t hurt that Brighton used my favorite troupe ever…best friend’s younger sister. She really had me at that but then the characters brought that all to life. And OMG, Haley is the CUTEST! Really enjoyed this one a lot!
Not a bad start to January. Sure only 2 of those are full reviews but the other 3 were more fun reads for me and I didn’t want to bog myself down with “having: to review them.
Sarah at The YA Book Traveler is hosting Rock My TBR challenge. It is no secret that as book bloggers we have a lot of books that don’t get read. We get busy or getting something new and shiny (we are an easily distracted bunch) and things we were excited about reading don’t actually get read. This is my chance to change that and to read some of the books that have been collecting dust since before I was blogging. You can find more information HERE
Title: The Remedy
Author: Suzanne Young
Dates Read: January 19 – 24
Date Added to TBR: June 4, 2014
Thoughts: My review will posted in February but just know that this book was AMAZING! I loved The Program and The Treatment so much yet something kept making me wait to read The Remedy which I have had in my possession since December 2014. But since I got The Epidemic at ALA I knew it was time to Rock my TBR and read it. So worth it. Check back for my fell review next month.
My goal is to read a minimum of 12 so 1 in January is keeping me on track.
Lauren from Bookmark Lit is hosting The Must Read in 2016 “Challenge”. This challenge isn’t really a challenge per say. More a way to push yourself to read some books you were excited about in 2015 that you just never got to. Find out more HERE. This challenge will over lap a lot with Rock My TBR. Because of that I am just going to post a picture of what I read in the month from my original post:
One off that list. Next month I plan to read Asunder with a buddy so there will go another.
