This has been a hard hard stretch of reading for me. It’s not that I’m not reading. I am reading a ton. I’m reading a variety of different books and for the most part I’m reading them quickly. The hard part is that these books have all just been only okay. I haven’t been wowed by much in the last month and that is what is troubling me and leading me to the phase I’m currently in…I want to read all the books.
I know the next fantastic book is out there waiting for me and because of that I want to read EVERYTHING at once. Currently I’m thinking about reading The Man in the High Castle (Phillip Dick), Zack (Sawyer Bennett), The Long Game (Jennifer Lynn Barnes) and The Season (Jonah Lisa Dyer and Stephen Dyer). Since The Man in the High Castle and Zack are library eBooks those are winning, but this is the dilemma I am currently facing…my reading phase.
This phase is only going to get worse when May hits. There are 33 books that come out in May that I want to read, 3 big ones that I’m super excited for, that will be coming to Mexico with me. There is no way I will not want to read everything at once. I mean A Court of Mist and Fury and The Crown come out on the same day alone. Then there is Summer Days and Summer Nights, The Crown’s Game, and all the books that have been sitting on my shelf waiting for me, like The Darkest Corners, The Love that Split the World, The Geeks’ Guide to Unrequited Love and so many more.
How does one chose? How do you pick what to read when to read it? Why can’t I read everything at once??? Life is not fair.
