Today I’m switching it up a little with a blog tour on a crafty type of book, Paint by Sticker Masterpieces, brought to you by Workman Publishing.
Workman sent me a copy of Paint by Sticker Masterpiece and a frame. I was assigned The Birth of Venus, by Sandro Botticelli as my painting and to work I went.
The concept is pretty cool and it immediately brought me back to my childhood days of painting by number. It was fun to actually see it form at take shape as I placed each sticker down and created my own masterpiece. I will admit that some of the stickers were harder to get off the paper and to place than others. It took some time and patience but it wasn’t stressful or anything like that. In the end though I love how my “masterpiece” turned out.
It isn’t perfect, but neither is art. I can’t wait to do another one. Some of the other paintings you will find are:
- The Creation of Adam, by Michelangelo
- Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci
- Girl with a Pearl Earring, by Johannes Vermeer
- Napoleon at Saint-Bernard Pass, by Jacques-Louis David
- The Great Wave off Kanagawa, by Katsushika Hokusai
- Houses of Parliament, by Claude Monet
- Still Life with Apples and a Pot of Primroses, by Paul Cezanne
- Dance at Bougival, by Pierre-Auguste Renoir
- Bedroom in Arles, by Vincent van Gogh
- Breezing Up (A Fair Wind), by Winslow Homer
- Flaming June, by Frederic Leighton

I don’t know much about art. The extent of my knowledge comes from Gilmore Girls. ?
I love Leonid Afremov’s work. His techniques are so interesting and his art is so colorful and multi-dimensional.
So fun! My daughter was sent an animal sticker book and I wanted to steal it. Now I don’t have to!
My favorite artist is Monet. Not very original, but I love his paintings of sea roses.
I have always love Diego Rivera’s work. 🙂
