I was originally going to skip today’s Back to School freebie for Top Ten Tuesday. But then I started to think about it and I thought about how many amazing realistic contemporary books I’ve read over the last 7 or so years and it made me realize there should be a reading list of this in high schools for kids. These books deal with school shootings, abuse, date rape, mental illness and more. They are all things that I think high schoolers should know about and be able to read about. So here is my list of 10 Realistic Contemporaries that should be on a reading list for teens:
What We Saw || Every Last Word || When We Collided || Faking Normal || What Happens Next
If I Lie || Shine || Hate List || Bad Romance || Thirteen Reasons Why
What do you think should belong on a realistic contemporary reading list for high school kids? Have you read of of these?
*Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish
I haven’t read any of these, but a lot are on my Wishlist! Here’s my TTT:

I loved Hate List and Thirteen Reasons Why and definitely agree they would be good ones for high school aged kids to read.
