If you don’t follow me on Instagram you may have no idea that I have become addicted to Korean Dramas in 2022. I knew they had become super popular in the US in recent years but it was something I never saw myself watching. I was never one to watch foreign language films and read the subtitles. Even just last year I watched Squid Games dubbed in English. But in January a friend from work messaged me and told me I needed to start watching them. Based off my love of books and romance in books she though it was a whole genre of stories I was missing out on. Based off her suggestion I started Crash Landing on You (CLoY) and my TV watching has not been the same since. Safe to say I am addicted.
Since that fateful day that I hit play on CLoY, I have watched 21 different dramas. See, the thing is, no one told me they play out like a romance novel. Not matter what genre you watch, fantasy, action, romcom, they all play out like a romance book and I’m hooked. Have I loved every single one that I have watched? No. But they have all been entertaining and so much fun to watch. I literally have a list of like 75-80 that I want to watch and the list is growing.
So today I am sharing a top 10 list of sorts, my top 5 I have watched and the top 5 that I want to watch. Full disclosure I change my mind daily on what I’m most excited to watch next so this is the list as I type this post. If you ask me today…97% sure my mind has changed. (I have liked the Wikipedia pages for each show. You will need Netflix or Viki or even Hulu to watch any of these.)
Out of the 21 I watched these are my top 5. All have been rated at 5 stars (CLoY) or 4.5 stars. They were each special in there own way and I would 100% recommend them all.
Like I said, I have a huge list of ones I want to watch (feel free to reach out if you have recommendations or want to see my list) but these are the 5 that are currently on my mind. I didn’t include the one that I am planning to watch as I type this since I will probably be in the middle of watching when this posts, but do know this is constantly changing.
*Please note that some of these shows have more than one title, which can be confusing.
So tell me, are you a watcher of Korean dramas? If so do you have a favorite? Are you looking to start watching? Tell me in the comments!
[…] you read my post on my new found love of KDramas you will know that I had no intention of watching them let alone fall completely in love with them […]
