Review: Splintered – A. G. Howard

Review: Splintered – A. ..

Holy dark and creepy and twisted take on Alice in Wonderland and I loved every minute of it! It was the comfort of Alice in Wonderland with such a different take that I was mesmerized by it. The imagery, the characters, the story, the weirdness. I devoured Splintered and was left wanting more when I was done. Basically Splintered is the story of Alyssa Gardner, a somewhat descendent of the inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderlands. Since the telling of Alice’s stories, the women in Alyssa’s family have been cursed with madness and usually end up in mental health […]

Review: Fault Line – Christa Desir

Review: Fault Line – Chr..

Honestly I had a major problem with Fault Line. I found the subject matter intriguing and different but in the end I had trouble with the execution. Ani and Ben were these great characters with depth but I felt everything was just on the surface with them and I never was able to get to the real emotion, to connect with them. And I can’t help but wonder if this was because the book was written from Ben’s POV when it would have benefited more having been from both POVs. Fault Line is about Ben, a high school student on the swim team destined to […]

If you do not want to be spoiled I suggest that you stop reading right now, pick up the book, and then come back and see what I have to say. First things first, Allegiant was by far the best […]

Second Chance Sunday – The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

Second Chance Sunday – T..

Wow, wow, wow! That book was amazing in almost every meaning of the word. When I first started it I thought it was going to get boring and annoying real fast, and I have never been so happy to be wrong. The Darkest Mind was a well thought out story and I loved every minute of it. The Darkest Minds is a story about Ruby, a girl that has been forced into what is essentially a concentration camp at a very young age because of a power she possesses; she can read minds and even remove memories. In camp, she […]
