Review: Things I Can’t Forget – Miranda Kenneally

Review: Things I Can’t F..

Fantastic. Things I Can’t Forget was really great. It was different than what Kenneally has written in the past focusing hugely on religious beliefs but even with that difference it 100% had the Kenneally feel. Cute boy? Check. Emotional Turmoil? Check. Character Crossover? Check. Add in the religious aspect, which I am personally fascinated by, although not religious myself, and you have a can’t miss story. And She definitely didn’t miss. Things I Can’t Forget is Kate story. She is a good girl, the one that has always done the right thing. She is basically a parents dream. But what […]

Second Chance Sunday – Want to Go Private? by Sarah Darer Littman

Second Chance Sunday – W..

This edition of Second Chance Sunday is Sarah Darer Littman’s disturbingly realistic book Want to Go Private?. I still  get the chills thinking about this book it was that real and scary especially in a world where teens live on the internet. This book looks at what happens when a child is unsupervised online for the most part and the dangers that they may face. I warn anyone that is a parent and read this it will freak you out. I’m not a parent and it freaked me out thinking of my 14 year old godchild and how easy it […]

Review: Shatter Me – Tahereh Mafi

Review: Shatter Me – Tah..

I had zero intentions to read this book originally. It just didn’t seem like something that would interest me. Well, I don’t know if you have noticed, but I have been challenging myself to read stuff outside of my normal reading comfort zone.  Since that’s the case when this was offered by Epic Reads(Harper Teen) as a 68-hour free read online only, I jumped on it. My conclusion: I’m an idiot for passing in the first place. This book was fantastic and addicting and mesmerizing! Shatter Me is about Juliette, a girl that has been locked away in isolation for […]

Second Chance Sunday – What Happens Next by Colleen Clayton

Second Chance Sunday – W..

This week’s Second Chance Sunday review is for What Happens Next by Colleen Clayton. To say I loved this book would be a massive understatement. I have since lent it to 3 or 4 people who have also loved it. Figured it need a second review go around.   Confession time: When I read the description of What Happens Next my mind never connected the situation Sid got into on the ski trip with sexual assault. Honestly my mind went to some weird mystical thing because of the missing lock of hair. I have no idea why, but it did. […]

Review: The Iron King – Julie Kagawa

Review: The Iron King – ..

So you may have noticed if you look at my current reading choices that I am reading things outside of my normal comfort zone. Graceling, Shatter Me and now The Iron King are all books I would never normally read. It started with Graceling and has since become my own personal challenge. Every month I am reading a book that I wouldn’t normally gravitate to. For February that book was The Iron King and what a great choice it was. A friend suggested I read it for this “challenge” and I took her up on it. At times I felt […]
