I’m so excited to be part of the ABCs Character Edition for my novel, I Love Him, I Love Him Not, which will be available soon in paperback. The book is about Talia Nicoletti, a girl who puts up a hardened facade to keep from having to deal with her feelings, as she’s forced to unravel some tangled up emotions and figure out what she wants. Part of that tough exterior means she misses a lot of things that are right in front of her face, stuff she would notice if she’d just drop her guard enough to let other people in.

Accessory: Dr. Martens 1460 W
You can’t go wrong with a good pair of boots, and what better boots are there than Doc Martens? These hot pink patent leather boots are perfect. They fall way outside the Westgate Prep dress code, they’re super comfy, and they match Talia’s hair…when she decides to go Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink.

Books: Drew Struzan: Oeuvre
Talia’s favorite commercial artist is Drew Struzan, the artist behind some of the most iconic movie posters and album covers. Drew Struzan: Ouevre doesn’t include all his work (it was released a few years before Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens), but it’s still an amazing collection of some of his most memorable art over the last thirty-plus years.

Clothes: Larry Levine Single Breasted Wool Blend Walking Coat
It’s been said that it never rains in Southern California (and there’s even a song to that effect), but the winter months can be pretty brutal by L.A. standards. When it drops below 65 degrees, it’s time to break out the heavy winter wear. This Larry Levine walking coat is exactly Talia’s style. It’s basic and understated, allowing her to pair it with just about anything in her wardrobe (including those boots!), and it’s much warmer than one of her Westgate Prep hoodies.

Blog Tour: The ABCs with Emerson from Hello? by Liza Wiemer

Today we have a Blog Tour edition of The ABCs brought by a character in Liza Wiemer’s book Hello?. The book is currently available for purchase and is written in a bunch of varying styles. You can find out more on the book and enter the giveaway below. But now let’s welcome Emerson (and Liza) to the ABCs!

emerson

Accessories: Fossil Coachman Chronograph Brown Leather Watch
Building off a classic design, a thick rich leather cuff adds rugged appeal to this sharp steel chronograph.

Emerson would wear this watch because he likes the vintage look. After all, he drives a ’68 Camaro.

Books: Poems by Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1847, 1st Edition, Signed Bennett Binding
Yes, this is expensive. But it would be a Christmas gift to Emerson from Tricia, who inherited a great deal of money from her father and grandmother. This first edition signed copy of Ralph Waldo Emerson poems would mean so much to Emerson. After all, he was named for Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Tricia and Emerson bantered over quotes during their first phone call. It’s something that Emerson would cherish forever.

Clothes: Armani Exchange Colorblock Wool Polo
The black, grey combo would look amazing on Emerson, and would most likely bring out the blue in his eyes. He’d love this sweater for it’s classic, formfitting look. (And the jeans are pretty hot too!)

So excited to be back on Andi’s ABCs for the release of my next YA, Just Visiting! (You can check out my ABCs for Vanessa Park of Under the Lights here!) Like my last book, Just Visiting has two main characters who alternate POVs, but there’s no question Victoria Reyes gets the spotlight here, given she’s the book’s resident fashionista! Vic is all about creating and showing off her own style, though there’s a part of her that wants to blend in too…

Accessory: Lavaliere with Swarovski crystal
One of Vic’s greatest college ambitions is to join a sorority, and one of the things that draws her eye when she visits her first campus with Reagan is a girl wearing a lavaliere. She doesn’t know what it is, or its significance, but she knows she wants one. I think she’d particularly love this one, with a Swarovski crystal, because Vic is all about blinging up whatever she can!

Book: The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall
Vic would pick this one up in a second after seeing the combination of a gorgeous dress and the suggestion of travel on the cover, and she’d absolutely love all the windows into different cities (and luxury shopping!) within. Add not one but two hot guys? This book is total Vic-bait. The only question is whether she’d be Team Jack or Team Stellan.

Clothing: Carolina Herrera Ruched Faille Gown
Maybe not terribly practical, but Vic is definitely dreaming of attending magical events that would require something this formal and beautiful, and the combination of body-hugging lines and bright color make it just her style. Plus, how much would she love owning something by another Latina fashion designer? Carolina Herrera is definitely one of her idols!

The ABCs with Casper Quinn from Chicken by Chase Night

Welcome to the ABCs, Character Edition.   Weekly this feature has always been a place for bloggers, readers, publicists and authors to show off there ABCs. Well Now the ABCs are also opened for authors to show off the ABCs for their main characters. You can still sign-up to post your own picks HERE or if you have a main character that wants to get in on the fun, sign-up HERE.

Today we have Casper Quinn from Chase Night‘s book Chicken sharing with us the accessories, books and clothes he is lusting after.

Let’s give a warm ABCers welcome to Casper (and Chase)!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
chase
Casper was a real cowboy on a working Texas cattle ranch before his family lost everything in the aftermath of his father’s bullriding accident. Now he’s just another piece of trailer trash wearing over-sized, two-dollar, yard-sale jeans in his mother’s hometown of Hickory Ditch, Arkansas. Early on in CHICKEN, Casper and his best friend/secret crush Brant Mitchell come across a leathersmith’s booth at Ditch Daze, the local 4th of July festival. Brant finds the perfect belt for Casper—one engraved with running horses and which happens to be the same color as Casper’s old saddle—but Casper has to tell him he can’t afford it. So this would definitely be the accessory Casper most longs for.
BOOK: The Black Stallion by Walter Farley
About the only thing Casper’s ever been good with is horses. In Hickory Ditch, everyone treats him like a loser, but back home he was a rodeo champ. Plus, horses don’t care about your secrets. They don’t care who you’re in love with as long as you show up every morning and feed them. Losing his favorite horse was the worst part of losing his home, but luckily, his new landlady Sister Bonnie offered him a job doing chores around her barn. Her grown-and-gone son has an old black gelding named Shetan. Sister Bonnie’s son told her this is an Arabic word for “like the wind” but because it’s also the real name of the black stallion in his favorite book, Casper knows it’s really an Arabic word for “the devil.”
CLOTHING: WRT20 Wrangler Retro Relaxed Bootcut Jeans in Trail Worn Denim
As much as Casper wants a nice belt to hold up his baggy jeans, what he really needs are new jeans. For a cowboy like Casper, only a pair of bootcut Wranglers would do, but he is sixteen and in love so he’d want to pick something a little more sexy and stylish than utilitarian. After all, he’s not sure if Brant Mitchell would fall for a guy a period, but he definitely wouldn’t fall for one wearing dorky dad jeans.
The ABC with Lauren Dailey from Empath by S. Usher Evans
Let’s give a warm ABCers welcome to Lauren!
Accessory: Ruby Necklace
In the book, Lauren picks up her own ruby necklace at an antique store as yet another attempt to get over her ex-boyfriend. She can’t wear the old necklace that he gave her without crying, so she purchases a new one. When she’s transported to the village of Rhianu, the gem becomes a lifeline as she wrestles with her new power as an Empath and tries to keep her anxiety and depression at bay.
Book: You’ve Got Dragons
If Lauren were to have read this book when she first arrived in Rhianu, and understood that asking for help is not as scary as living in silence with your fears, she might have been able to get back home sooner.
But since she’s definitely NOT thinking about the dragon that definitely ISN’T the voice in her mind and definitely DOESN’T want to eat her, she totally doesn’t need to read that book.
RIGHT?
Clothing: Sweatpants
When Lauren realizes that she’s stuck in a fantasy world, all she wants are a good pair of sweatpants instead of the wool and cotton dress she’s provided.
I think we all would, Lauren. I think we all would.
About the book
Lauren Dailey is in break-up hell.
Stuck between moving on and letting go, she puts on a brave face while crying herself to sleep at night. But when a mysterious voice promises escape from her sadness, she is suddenly transported to a new world. And in this place, the slightest touch pulls her out of her tortured emotions into the mind of another – an empath.
The villagers – sweet Aerona and her mischievous twins, wise Siors, and hunky Cefin – welcome her and the blessings her empath powers bring. But this world is not without its dangers. The Anghenfil, a fire-breathing monster, has haunted the village for decades, and has a taste for empaths. And that mysterious voice promising escape from sadness? It’s sounding more like a whisper tinged with smoke and embers.
Can Lauren keep the monsters in the mountain and in her head at bay? Or will she succumb to the darkness like the empath before her…
