Top Ten Tuesday – Unique Books

I don’t read a lot of unique books. I typically know what I like and it is usually what I stick to. Every now and then I will try a book on a recommendation or based on a rating someone gave it or even sometime just because it sounds interesting or I liked the author. Some of these books have been huge hits with me and some a sad miss. But they are all unique in some way. How are they unique? There is POV, writing style (one book is in verse which I learned is not for me), topic, language used, or the story in general. They all brought something new to my reading history and I will forever be grateful for that.

After the Kiss – Terra Elan McVoy

The Art of Racing in the Rain – Garth Stein

Pure – Terra Elan McVoy

Push – Sapphire

Uglies – Scott Westerfeld

Grave Mercy – Robin LaFevers

Forbidden – Tabitha Suzuma

Glow – Amy Kathleen Ryan

Small Town Sinners – Melissa Walker

Bumped – Megan McCafferty

What have been the most unique books you have read? Have you read any of the 10 above?

Top Ten Tuesday – Author Meetings

I have been a very lucky girl and have gotten to meet a lot of authors that I love and have been able to gush over their books that mean so much to me. I’ve been to BEA and ALA and book signings. I have moderated panels and been to publishing events that have made this all possible. There are still those authors that I have yet to have the chance to meet. I hope it happens one day, but until then here is a list of 5 authors I was lucky enough to meet and 5 I am dying for the chance to.

Sarah J. Maas || Emery Lord || Sarah Dessen || Lauren Oliver || Morgan Matson

Stephanie Perkins || Suzanne Young || Sarah Ockler || Lauren Miller || Trish Doller

Someday I really  hope to get to meet these 5 amazing women just to thank them from bringing the gift of their words into my life.

What authors have you met or are dying to meet?

Top Ten Tuesday (on a Thursday) – Spring TBR

So I didn’t get this up on Tuesday (we had a snow storm which was a mess) and I didn’t get this up yesterday (it was an ABCs day). I figure why not make it Top Ten Thursday so I can show off my possible Spring TBR. Without further ado…

A Court of Wings and Ruin – Sarah J. Maas (Top priority in May!!!)

Bad Romance – Heather Demetrios (reading this one soon)

In a Perfect World – Trish Doller

Twist – Kylie Scott

Goodbye Days – Jeff Zentner

These Things I’ve Done – Rebecca Phillips

The Thief – Megan Whalen Turner (No idea what it is about but made a deal with Gail)

Once and for All – Sarah Dessen

Here Lies Daniel Tate – Cristin Terrill

Coming Up for Air – Miranda Kenneally (I read a draft and I can’t wait to read it again!)

And there you have my Spring TBR…maybe, I think, we’ll see.

What is on your Spring TBR?

Top Ten (okay, Eight) Tuesday – Bah Bah Black Sheep

I hate when I feel like a black sheep with certain books. There is nothing worse than all of your reading people to fall in love with a book and then you read it and you hate it or are just  meh about it. You question what you missed that everyone else loved. But that just shows how not all books are for all people. Anyway, I have been pretty lucky for the most part with being a black sheep. I have 8 books that I came up with for today. Basically I decided this list by the rating being higher than a 4 on Goodreads and I either gave it no stars, 1 star or 2 stars.

Some Boys – 1 star

Safe Haven – 1 star

Winger – 2 stars

Don’t Look Back – 2 stars

I Hunt Killers – 2 stars

Unhinged – 2 stars

All the Bright Places – Couldn’t Rate

On the Island – 1 star

What books were you a black sheep on? Did any surprise you?

Top Ten Tuesday – Favorite Ships

Today’s topic was a little open-ended. There were a bunch of examples of what you could decide to do and I could have gone with any of them. I was going to go with love to hate, a troupe that I love, but I kept thinking about to my monthly topic for the Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge and I got stuck on that. So here are my 10 favorite ships from books that I love:

Anna & Etienne

Froi & Quintana

Rhysand & Feyre

Josh & Nastya

Josh & Skylar

Annie & Jeremiah

Four & Tris

Lena & Alex

Corey & Sid

Arin & Kestrel

Who are you favorite ships?
