Here are a few brief thoughts on some romance reads released in September: I feel hard for A Brush with Love when I read it in 2021, but I fell even more head over heals for Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake. Lizzie is not your typical heroine. She is a straight up mess. But she is so charming and likable that you can’t help but love her and feel bad for her at the same time. People just don’t understand her or how her brain works and they don’t take the time to find out. They just call her flakey and […]

Here are a few brief thoughts on some Netgalley reads that all released today: Straight up, Love on the Brain was a geeky, quirky delight. Bee and Levi are complete opposites and arch-nemesis’s. Spotlight: Sadie on a Plate by Amanda Elliot

Spotlight: Sadie on a Plate by..

Praise for Sadie on a Plate: “This novel is perfect for any fans of cooking shows who also love to curl up with a beach read…Give this tasty book a read, but perhaps with a bag of chips nearby.” —USA Today “Luke and Sadie are likable characters with magnetic, slow-building chemistry and sympathetic, realistic backstories. The fast-paced, delicious plot is as much about food as romance…Readers, especially those who enjoy shows like Top Chef, won’t be able to put down this fast-paced romantic comedy.”—Library Journal (starred review) “Elliot’s first adult novel has the perfect amount of reality show hijinks and […]

Here are a few brief thoughts on some Netgalley reads: Dating Dr. Dil was a really fun book. Prem and Rina had vastly different views on relationships and love. Rina believed in love and finding her soulmate while Prem thought love marriage was an illusion that didn’t exist. They were a feisty pair of characters that fought their attraction while standing by their beliefs and I loved that. But I also loves how Rina stood up for herself and what she wanted. And I loved how Prem cared about his community and their health. They were really well rounded characters […]

Here are a few brief thoughts on some Netgalley reads: I was really looking forward to Mr. Wrong Number. The description seemed so fun and something I would 100% into. It was a brother’s best friend story which is one of my favorite kind of romance tropes. And honestly I was really into about 82% of this story, but that is where the love ended. Don’t get my wrong, the stuff I loved was worth reading, but as a whole it just missed the mark for me. The last 17% just didn’t fit what I had loved in the beginning […]
