Along with my Goodreads Challenge (you can find my progress on the side bar) I also challenged myself to 3 other challenges for 2016. Every month I will check in with my challenge updates.

738

Title: 738 Days
Author:  Stacey Kade
Dates Read: June 3 – June 9

Thoughts: I loved this book. It wasn’t perfect (there were somethings that made me pause) but I loved it so much that I shoved those things out of my mind. If you want more thoughts on it check out my review HERE.

defending

Title: Defending Taylor
Author: Miranda Kenneally
Dates Read: June 27 – June 30

Thoughts: I haven’t finished this book as of posting (I read it before as a draft) but I will be finishing it tonight if I have to stay up really late. Basically Defending Taylor is just another reason to love Miranda Kenneally. Come back for my review on July 4th!

I was a reading machine in June. I read 17 book this month because I have been binge reading a series that is book crack. Truthfully about 11 of the books I read could fit into this challenge but I’m not reviewing them so I didn’t count them. So far this year I have read 21 for this challenge.

ROCK-1

Sarah at The YA Book Traveler is hosting Rock My TBR challenge. It is no secret that as book bloggers we have a lot of books that don’t get read. We get busy or getting something new and shiny (we are an easily distracted bunch) and things we were excited about reading don’t actually get read. This is my chance to change that and to read some of the books that have been collecting dust since before I was blogging. You can find more information HERE

howtolove

Title: How to Love
Author: Katie Cotugno
Dates Read: June 9 – June 14

Thoughts: I’m so happy to have finally read this one. It has bene on my TBR since May 2013 so I feel very accomplished haveing read it. It wasn’t my favorte, I like 99 Days better, but I didn’t hate it either.

So far I have read 4.

Lauren from Bookmark Lit is hosting The Must Read in 2016 “Challenge”. This challenge isn’t really a challenge per say. More a way to push yourself to read some books you were excited about in 2015 that you just never got to. Find out more HERE. This challenge will over lap a lot with Rock My TBR. Because of that I am just going to post a picture of what I read in the month from my original post:

charged2

Title: Charged
Author: Jay Crownover
Dates Read: May 4 – May 9

I love a good Crownover book. Her characters are always so fun. I was on the blog tour for this one and although it wasn’t my favorite I did enjoy it. If you haven’t read her books I suggest starting with the Marked Men series and then moving on the this series. Built is my favorite of hers. (REVIEW)

summerskin

Title: Summer Skin
Author: Kirsty Eager
Dates Read: May 25 – May 29

I’m still trying to work out how I feel about this book.  I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either. There were parts I really enjoyed, like the sarcastic banter, but other things I just couldn’t get behind. And I had a hard time with one scene I thought was super icky. A review will be coming at some point I think.

I didn’t really read a lot this month since I was in Mexico and then dealing with work and catch-up after Mexico. Plus I read ACOMAF which was 624 pages. I read only 4 books in total so 2 for this challenge not bad at all. So far this year I have read 19 for this challenge.

I did not ROCK MY TBR this month. OOPS.

So far I have read 3.

mebefore

Title: Me Before You
Author: Jojo Moyes
Dates Read: March 30 – April 3

I am still broken from this book and my review still consists of 4 lines and 4 crying gifs. I just can’t bring myself to come up with words to accurately describe this beautiful book. It isn’t a conventional type of romance but it was a romance all the same in my eyes. The movie will probably kill me and I can’t wait.

makeit

Title: Make it Count
Author: Megan Erickson
Dates Read: April 8 – 12

This book was sadly not a favorite of mine. It was okay but I got annoyed a lot at the end and rolled my eyes more times than is natural. It didn’t live up to my hype in my mind and I honestly don’t know if I will continue with the series. But I will mark it a success because I did read something that has been on my TBR list.

I didn’t really go all out for this challenge this month. I mean I read a lot of romances but none I really would review (the Cold Fury series for example). I’m okay with it since I have already reached my goal. So far this year I have read 16 for this challenge.

violent

Title: Violent Ends
Author: Variety of Authors
Dates Read: April 13 – 23

I have been meaning to rread this one for a long time and finally did it. It took a while because it is a heavy story and I couldn’t read it all in one sitting or much at once, but it was really well done. Review will be posted next week-ish.

Title: I’ll Meet You There
Author: Heather Demetrios
Dates Read: February 22 – March 3

This was a reread (that took me longer than it should of because I was sick) and it was everything that it was the first time I read it. Skylar and Josh heart my heart and mend it just thinking about them. If you haven’t read this yet…DO IT! REVIEW

something

Title: Something Like Normal
Author: Trish Doller
Dates Read: March 11 – 15

Yet another reread. It was brought on by my love of Josh in I’ll Meet You There because it reminded me how much I loved Travis in SLN. Really such a fantastic debut by Trish Doller. She really hit the mark with feels and emtions. Truly a must read. REVIEW

unexpected

Title :  The Unexpected Everything
Author:  Morgan Matson
Dates Read:  March 14 – 22

Another book where Morgan Matson has hit it out of the park. I will be reviewing this when it is closer to release date, but just know it is so so good. I finished it at jury duty and did what I typically do when reading a Matson book…cried my eyes out. Out in May and should not be missed!

anna1

Title: Anna and the French Kiss
Author:  Stephanie Perkins
Dates Read:  March 18 – 24

My 3rd reread for the month, but my 12th read of Anna. Every time I read it I just want to thank Stephanie Perkins for bringing this book into my life and for making it even exist in the world for others. Should you read it? DUH. REVIEW

naturalhistory

Title: The Natural History of Us
Author: Rachel Harris
Dates Read: March 25 – 28

I read this one for a blog tour and my review will be posted on Saturday. I don’t want to say too much since the post is soon, but this was a fun one.

I did a lot of rereads for March but you know me, I love a good reread. The other 2 reviews are still to come. So far this year I have read 15 for this challenge. I knew this one would be easy.

I really did plan to read something from my TBR in March but um that totally didn’t happen! I got sucked into rereads and new books. OOPS!

truthaboutboys

Title:  The Truth About Boys
Author: Shana Norris
Dates Read: February 9 – 12

Thoughts: I had read the first one in this companion series years ago and the 2nd more recently. I was part of the blog tour for this one and it was really cute. You can find my review HERE.

deeper

Title: Deeper
Author: Robin York
Dates Read: February 17 – 18

Thoughts: I found this book on a whim when I was looking through my library eBook catalog. It crushed my heart so much and yet it was so good. I plan to review it and the sequel. Stay tuned.

psilike

Title : P. S. I Like You
Author: Kasie West
Dates Read: February 16 – 19

Thoughts: This one doesn’t come out until July but I just couldn’t wait to read it. I will review it  closer to publication date but man oh man was it fantastic. My favorite Kasie West contemporary book to date. Just LOVED it!

harder1

Title: Harder
Author: Robin York
Dates Read: February 20 – 22

Thoughts: This one hurt even more than Deeper. West just killed me. I will be reviewing with Deeper at some point.

I still need to really review 3 out of these 4 but not bad at all for a February that I ended being sick.
