Eventbrite is “the largest self-service ticketing platform in the world that helps people find and plan events”. They were working on a project and it was right up my alley. It isn’t often that you get to create your dream panel. It’s true I have been lucky enough to meet many of my favorite authors, but you always just have those dream authors you would give anything to have in a room together. Well now is my chance to plan it:
Lauren Miller (Parallel)
Why she is on the panel: Lauren’s book deals with how our choices effect everything in our lives. How if we decided to go somewhere an hour later we could end up on a totally different path. Although the book is not what most would consider ‘realistic contemporary’ it kind of s because it shows you what path a person can end up on if they make a different choice.
Sarah Ockler (Twenty Boy Summer)
Why she is on the panel: Sarah’s book is about getting what you want and then losing it and having to deal with that loss. How to do move on when no one know you even need to? How do you let go of all the what-ifs and not feel like you are betraying the one that left you behind?
Sarvenaz Tash (The Geek’s Guide to Unrequited Love)
Why she is on the panel: Sarvenaz’s book 100% deals with reality, the reality that things just don’t always go the way you want them to. You don’t always get the boy/girl. You don’t always get the win. You don’t always get the hard to find tickets. But you do always get the chance to continue on and try again.
Stephanie Perkins (Anna and the French Kiss)
Why is she on the panel: Besides the fact that her book is my all time favorite book ever, Anna is about opportunities and doing things out of your comfort zone and surviving. It’s about seeing what you are made of when the choice is out of your hands and coming out on top.
Suzanne Young (All in Pieces)
Why is she on the panel: Suzanne’s newest book is so much about real life and how hard it is that there is no way this panel would exist without her. All in Pieces deals with the struggles that people face everyday and the decisions they have to make because of them. It is about how one person can take on so much responsibility and not want to let anyone in because she has been burned before.
So there you have it, my dream panel! Is there anyone on it that you would want to come and see?
