If you haven’t noticed, especially from last weeks Friday’s Fancies, I am from Boston. And being from Boston means one thing this time of year, it’s cold. New England weather can change at the drop of a hat In November so you better be ready and you better be ready with a nice toasty sweater and a vest or coat to go over it.
How do you style your sweaters?
It’s no lie that I love a good anchor sweater. I can’t help it. I see one and I want, need, have to have it. Above are three of my favorites that were/are sold at JCrew Factory. Sadly I missed out on the navy with the grey anchor version, but I go have the beige one and my eye is totally on the red anchor. I NEED that one badly! I can’t wear sold red, but I think the red anchor will be okay. Anyway, when I saw these three items in my Polyvore list I thought it would be fun to style each one a different way knowing they can all be switched out with a few tweaks.
And there you have it. Three different anchor sweaters, three different style ideas. What do you think? How would you style an anchor sweater? Would you buy an anchor sweater?
Handbags are a passion of mine. I feel they have the potential to completely switch up a look and to add some interest to it. I’m okay admitting that I am a handbag junkie. I’ve gotten better since I purchased my Michael Kors Hamilton Tote but I still like to look and if something jumps out at me I have no problem making the purchase. Below are a few bags in different price ranges. You will notice in the Splurge group they are all neutral/basic colors. That’s because I consider bags like that to be investment pieces and you should ALWAYS stay away from a trendy color or pattern when making that decision. I swear by it and it has done very well for me in the past.
What kind of bags to you usually go for? Have you purchased your statement/splurge bag yet?
The maxi dress is a major, major obsession of mine in the summer. It is one of the most versatile pieces in a wardrobe. Work, errands, day with the girls, even the pool. A maxi dress works for just about every occasion you could think of. And it is a great piece for every and any body type. Not to mention how easy it is to throw on and style. Last year I went on a binge maxi dress shopping spree and will most likely do the same again this year. It is my go to spring/summer look and I’m not ashamed to say it.
Below I took the dress I’m lusting over most for Dorothy Perkins(sadly they don’t have my size:-( ) and styled it three ways I would wear it for three kind of situations.
How do you wear a maxi dress? Have you done the dress to skirt look?
