I asked on Twitter the other day if anyone had any ideas for posts they would like to see on my blog in February. I got a few responses that I got excited about and a few that got the creativity going. Alison mentioned something about how libraries do Blind Date with a Book in February and that sparked something in me. I decided to look into it and I was fascinated by the idea. Since I obviously can’t wrap my own books and not know what I wrapped I decided to make an Internet twist on this idea.
Currently my TBR has 457 books on it. Some are out, some are not. Since there is no way to separate the ones that are out from the ones that aren’t currently available I have to get a little fancy here. What I’m going to do is leave a form below. All you need to do is pick a number from 1-457. After the weekend is up I will use the random number generator and pick from what you all picked. If the book is something I can get my hands on I’ll read that. If it is something that isn’t available I will do another random pick. After that I’ll read the book and then I will either post a review for it by the end of the month or use the questions I found from the the Milan Public Library (I did a google search and they were the first website found). Easy peasy! I have asked for you name/Twitter Handle so I can let you know what book was picked and then if you are interested you can even read it with me.
Sound good?Thought so.
My TBR list on Goodreads is all numbered but in no particular order. Feel free to look at it and pick the number for your fave book or just pick a number at random.
Okay, start giving me those numbers. The book will be decided on 2/8/16.
What a fun idea!! My local library sets up a Blind Date table every February and I think it’s great š
Back in October I started something similar: Tackling the TBR. For each hundred books on my TBR list I would have a random number generation pick a number and ended up grabbing those books from my library or off my shelves. So, SO much fun!!
that awkward time where I picked 11, and then went to your list and there wasnt an 11? If thats the case i change to 12 lol!
That’s been fixed. There was a weird glitchy thing happening so there are now no missing numbers. š
What a clever idea! I definitely hope mine gets drawn at some point – and I’m curious about what book it’s going to be š
