First let me start by introducing myself. The name’s Andi and I have been doing this solo blogging thing since January. I originally was blogging with Michelle at Galleysmith.com and when she needed to take a break I was too for a while. That is until people suggested I try my own hand at this blogging thing. Well I did and here I am. 6 months and going strong. I blog from the lovely city of Boston, MA where I was born and raised and love everything about. It’s my city, it’s my home, it’s my heart. Mostly I read young adult books and blog about those, but I have been known to mix a few romance novels and adult fictions into the mix. If you check out my blog you will see that along with books I love all  things fashion and am obsessed with JCrew and Essie nail polish. Other than that you get what you see. And right now what you see is the reason you are here, The Summer Lovin’ Read-a-Thon

So back in the middle of June I signed up for my first ever Read-a-Thon thinking what could be better then a week of reading and getting to know other readers. Well at the time I didn’t know I was going to be going away to the west coast for a portion of the challenge which put a damper on my plans. But the good thing about this particular Read-a-Thon is the low keyness of the whole thing. Originally my goal was to try and read 4-5 books during the week which I have been known to do anyway. But that isn’t going to happen now. Now I have to change my plans and do what I can. Am I bummed that I won’t be able to part take in the 24hr Saturday read, sure, but I’ll be checking out the lovely city of San Fransisco so I think I’ll survive. I honestly thought about removing my name for the list and not participating, but then I figured I could do what I can while I’m here and while I’m flying across the country. Will I get as much read as I would if I didn’t have to pack or travel? Definitely no. But I will read what I can because I don’t like to go a day without reading at least a chapter. Who cares if I can’t read 4-5 books. I may be able to read 1-2 and that’s fine because I tried something new.

Which brings me to the next point. Although I won’t get through all of these in the week, I will probably read at least one, if not 2 during the time. The question remains, which one or two should I do? And that is where you come in. Which books do you think I should read during the read-a-thon? I will go with the top two that have the most votes and even if I don’t get to them during the read-a-thon, they will be my next reads. So what do you think? Click on the book cover for more info.

I look forward to taking this journey with you other readers. What are your plans for reading during the Read-a-Thon?

  1. Aww, it’s too bad you’ll be away for a portion of the read-a-thon. But like you said, it’s a low-key week, and goals are flexible! 😀 And I love the poll to pick what books you’ll read! I chose The 5th Wave, because it’s one of my favorite books this year; and Tandem was my 2nd choice, because I think it sounds REALLY good.

I hope you’re able to find enough time in your busy week to relax and enjoy your books! 🙂

    • You definitely aren’t the only one that said The 5th Wave. 3 people have replied and all three have had that book as a pick. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and helping out.
