Tieks Review

I’m a ballet flat lover. I can’t help it. I find them so interesting and adorable. There are just so many options that it is hard not to be a fan. I mean when I’m stuck wearing closed toe shoes it is most likely, at least 95% of the time, an adorable ballet flat. I have suede ones and leathers ones and patent leather ones and mohair ones. I have prints and solids. I have round toe and pointy toe. Basically my ballet flat collection can cover just about any option I come up with. But with that said, it was missing one thing and it was a pair I couldn’t get out of my head. It was missing a pair of Tieks.

What are Tieks you ask? Well they are amazing ballet flats that are made with Italian leather, are comfortable and the fold up in your purse. Basically everything a girl needs and more! I came across them sometime last year and I have been eying them ever since. But there were a couple of small problems. One, you can only order them online so sizing is important. Sure they do free returns and exchanges on unworn merchandise, but who wants to deal with that. And the other, what color to get. There are some serious color options and it was not easy. But after some time thinking about it and my friend buying a pair, I finally made up my mind and decided to get a pair I think I will get the most wear out of based on the colors I wear most. And without further ado, introducing my Tieks.

As you can see, I went with the fuchsia Tieks in the long run. It was narrowed down to green, black, silver or fuchsia and after much deliberation and input from family, friends and readers, I realized that the pink were my best bet as most of my wardrobe will go perfectly well with them. I have had them for about a week now and have worn them for about 5 days of the 7 they have been in my closet and I can with 100% satisfaction say I am completely happy with my decision. The fit was fabulous and true to size for me. I haven’t had any pain wearing them nor have I had any places were they rub awkwardly against my skin. The color is just gorgeous and just what I was hoping for. And the leather is so soft. I have yet to really travel with them so I haven’t folded them up much, but when I have it was each and there was no problems wearing them after. Basically I’m giving Tieks an A+ and I’m already thinking of what color I may want for my birthday come August.

So what do you think ABCers? Looking to get a pair of Tieks in your closet? What color would you pick? Share in the comments below.

*Tieks were purchased by me with my own money. This is not a sponsored post and is based solely on my opinion on the product I ordered.

Essie~Fall 2013

Essie Fall 2013

This is going to come as a shock to you all, but I love nail polish. I know right? You never would have guessed that at all, especially if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter. 😉 Anyway, much like with fall clothes, I love the change of the seasons for new nail polish colors. In the beginning of August I realized that Essie would be coming out with a new line and I was beyond excited. Especially excited when I went into CVS and immediately found them all in person. Being me I of course purchased two of them immediately and I have my eye on at least 2 more. Can you guess which two I bought? Here is a hint for one of them:

Yup, I totally couldn’t wait and I love it to pieces!

Which ones of the new Fall Essie colors are you head over heels for?

I Want All The Things…

So I consider myself a person with pretty good will power. When I realized I was drinking too much soda I gave it up cold turkey and have been doing so for close to 10 years. When I see I’m buying things I don’t need, I can pull myself back. And when I see I’m shopping too much I can decide no to shop and stick to it. Very little can sway me when I set my mind to something. And that very little thing this week was 50% off at JCrew Factory Outlet. I’m sorry, but I’m a sucker for anything JCrew and then you add 50% off the whole store? Will power what?!

Okay, so that isn’t true. I did have some will power(I had to or I would be majorly in the poor house!) and I refrained from buy all the things I wanted because really…I WANTED ALL THE THINGS! Oh the colors and the prints and the fabrics and the cuts of things. The skirts and summer sweaters and the shorts and the dresses and the skirts. AND THE SHOES! OH THE SHOES! I was as they say, a kid in a candy store. I walked in and off I went, loading my arms up almost immediately. However reality set in and I realized I am not a Hilton, I can’t just spend whatever I want to spend since you know, I’m a grown-up(most of the time) and I have bills I still need to pay. Instead I had a budget in mind when I went in and I mostly stuck to it. Okay so I went $70.00 over, so sue me.

And now I must have you dying of curiosity…okay, maybe a little interested (are you interested?) in what I bought. Well first let me show you what I wanted and didn’t get. Because man…man did I WANT!

Jcrew Factory Want

Um yeah, who could afford that even with 50% off??!! Not this kid here. But it was tempting, so tempting to say screw the rent, I’m moving into a box with all my JCrew stuff and that’s that. But instead I put on my big girl panties and thought about what I really had been eying on the website and what I would get use out of in my wardrobe based off of pieces I already have. And after much, much time spent looking everything over I give you want I actually got:

JCrew Factory Sale

See…WILL POWER! Like how I did that? I showed you the millions of things I wanted first and then showed you what I got making it look like I reigned myself in. The truth is, my wallet did it, but whatevs! I still got some really cute stuff and I left stuff behind for you to buy my friends. I really am all about the people, I swear.

And now I must ask, what do you think of my purchases? What store/sale is your weakness?

As you all know, tomorrow is my manicure day and I am officially stumped on which color to get. So, this where you all come in. Below is a picture of 3 colors. In the comments tell me which number to do by 12pm EST. I can’t make a choose and need you to do it for me. You are the best ABCers, that is unless no one helps this kid out. 😀
