Review: The Heart of Betrayal – Mary E. Pearson

Review: The Heart of Betrayal ..

I didn’t know what to expect from book two of The Remnant Chronicles. I mean The Kiss of Deception was a pretty epic book for me and the ending had me dying to see where it would go. But it also had me terrified. I mean a book with Heart AND Betrayal in the title can lead to NO WHERE GOOD! But also, I needed to know so I had to read it. Verdict…it was excellent! The end killed me, but really strong second book. The Heart of Betrayal picks up where The Kiss of Deception left off. To be […]

Reviews: The Scarlet Series – A.C. Gaughen

Reviews: The Scarlet Series &#..

I read Scarlet a while ago. I had had it on my TBR shelf for a long time, signed no less, but had never gotten to it. After being strongly urged to do it I did and I really liked it. I had trouble with the dialect originally. It is written in a way that is slightly hard to get comfortable with until you don’t even notice it as the book progresses. I guess what I liked best about Scarlet was actually Scarlet herself. She was such a strong female lead in a men’s world that you can’t help but […]

Review: The Start of Me and You – Emery Lord

Review: The Start of Me and Yo..

Perfection. That is the only word that comes to mind when I think of this book. Emery Lord easily has given us the perfect book with her second novel The Start of Me and You. If you know me you know how much I loved her debut Open Road Summer. It was fun and smart and sassy and serious. It has a special place in my heart and life. Honestly I didn’t think I would love anything she wrote as much as I did Open Road Summer. And then I read The Start of Me and You and everything changed. […]

Review: Zac and Mia – A. J. Betts

Review: Zac and Mia – A...

I honestly don’t know where to begin with this one. Zac and Mia was a book I was very excited about. Reading the description I thought it was something I would think was crazy good. It had all the parts I like in a good book. Dual POVs, emotions, friendship/love possibilities. So when I was finally able to read it I was pretty excited. Sadly I ended up being slightly let down and ended up feeling meh about the whole thing. Basically I was bummed out. Zac and Mia is about two teenagers that find a strange connection in a […]

Review: Isla and the Happily Ever After – Stephanie Perkins

Review: Isla and the Happily E..

In 2010 a very good friend of mine said one thing to me that essentially changed my life. She said, ‘read Anna and the French Kiss’. Having only dabbled in reading in the past and slightly getting more into it I agreed and nothing has been the same. I have read that one book 8 times, its companion Lola and the Boy Next Door twice and most recently Isla and the Happily Ever After. Isla was a book that I have been anticipating for years, half scared it would let down, half scared it would be amazing and leave me […]
