Today is my turn to contribute to the fabulous feature, the brain child of Brittany at The Book Addict’s Guide, where myself, Brittany, Estelle at Rather Be Reading and Maggie at Just a Couple More Pages are paring books and beer. Pretty perfect for a bunch of beer and book lovers if you ask me.
With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, and me being a big fan of the day, I was excited that the prompt for this month’s Pub Date was the color green. I have loved St. Patrick’s Day for many many year. It is a huge staple in Boston. There are parades and parties and celebrations. It’s a great time. Last year I went to Savannah to celebrate which was awesome, minus the rain:
Anyway, I thought about what to do for green and since March is always the beginning of nicer weather I went with a “summer-y” beer and a definitely summer kind of book that are all green.
I became a grapefruit beer fan last summer when I tried Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Weizen-Mix. It was the perfect summer beer. Really tasty and low on the alcohol so a great summer drink. So when I was gifted The Stiegel I was curious how it would be in comparison. It was actually pretty similar. They both have that crisp, refreshing taste and low alcohol percent at 2.5% ABV. And both remind me a lot of Fresca. It isn’t heavy at all so it isn’t filling and definitely something that is perfect for a BBQ come the nice weather. I would recommend it.
Since You’ve Been Gone – Morgan Matson
I have read this book and listented to it on audio and it is just such a great story about friendship and standing on your own. It is so easy to see a lot of yourself in both Sloane and Emily. And Frank??? Oh how I love Frank. In a well ordered universe everyone will have read this one. (You will understand that reference when/if you read the book!) Plus Morgan Matson is just awesome! Highly recommend it. My review can be found HERE.
And there you have my Pub Date. I will be hosting this lovely feature every few weeks and would love for you to stop by and share a pint with me…or at least tell me what you are currently enjoying. Make sure you follow along with Brittany, Estelle and Maggie too. You never know when you will find your new favorite beer.

Excellent book choice! And I love a Guinness every now and then, but most particularly around St. Patrick’s Day 😉
I totally forgot about that well ordered universe thing, I loved that part of the book. Great choices! I don’t love grapefruit in general, but I do like Fresca so I’d definitely be curious to try this beer.
I’ve never heard of grapefruit beer, but oh my god, that sounds amazing. I can just picture myself out on the beach with one of those. AND YES SYBG IS THE BEST.

And now I want to try it and I’m normally a wine only kind of girl. LOL
Hmmm I can’t remember if I’ve ever had this before. I THINK I have! If not, something similar. It was definitely super yummy though!
I have yet to read ANYTHING by Morgan Matson! GAH! Must do that soon.
