How do you go back to a life you can’t remember? Find out in this follow up to the New York Times bestselling The Program and The Treatment.

Tatum Masterson never went through The Program. She never had her memory stripped, never had to fight to remain herself. But when Weston, her longtime boyfriend and love of her life, was taken by handlers, she hoped he’d remember her somehow—that their love would be strong enough.

It wasn’t.

Like all returners, Weston came back a blank canvas. The years he and Tatum spent together were forgotten, as well as the week when he mysteriously disappeared before The Program came for him.
Regardless of his memory loss, Tatum fights to get Weston to remember her. And just as they start to build a new love, they hear about the Adjustment—a new therapy that implants memories from a donor. Despite the risks, Tatum and Weston agree to go through the process. Tatum donates her memories from their time together.

But the problem with memories is that they are all a matter of perspective. So although Weston can now remember dating Tatum, his emotions don’t match the experiences. And this discrepancy is slowly starting to unravel him, worse than anything The Program could have done.

And as the truth of their life together becomes clear, Tatum will have to decide if she loves Weston enough to let him go, or to continue to live the lie they’d build together.

Prepare for your Adjustment.

The heart-stopping first chapter in bestselling author Jessica Shirvington's Disruption series.

What if a microchip could identify your perfect match?

What if it could be used against you and the ones you love?

Eight years ago, Mercer Corporation's M-Bands became mandatory. An evolution of the smartphone, the bracelets promised an easier life. Instead, they have come to control it.

Two years ago, Maggie Stevens watched helplessly as one of the people she loved most was taken from her, shattering her world as she knew it. Now, Maggie is ready. And Quentin Mercer - heir to the M-Corp empire - has become key to Maggie's plan.

But as the pieces of her dangerous design fall into place, could Quentin's involvement destroy everything she's fought for?

In a world full of broken promises, the ones Maggie must keep could be the most heartbreaking.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I had read a Jessica Shirvington book, Between the Lines/One Past Midnight, about 2 years ago on the suggestion of a friend that knows I love a good parallel life book. I really enjoyed it so I was excited when I saw her name as the author Disruption. I was even more excited when I saw what the book was about and then even more excited when a friend told me that I would love it because I loved Suzanne Young’s The Program series. Consider me hooked. And hooked on the book I was. Disruption was like The Program meets Free to Fall (Lauren Miller) meets Unleashed (Sophie Jordan) meets the love machine episode of Saved by the Bell and it was fantastic.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what I loved about this book. It could be the characters (Maggie and Quentin and Gus!!!), it could be the romance, it could be the plot, or it could be all 3 things.   The truth is, this book is addictive and I think it is because of all those things. I was on the end of my seat wondering what would happen to Maggie and Quentin. And even when I had an inkling on what I thought would happen I still wanted to read more just to know if I was right. It all unfolded so perfectly that I didn’t even care that some was a little predictable.

I guess in the long run I loved that this book reminded me of some many of my other favorite stories. It had so many moving pieces and the characters were so interesting I was sucked in from the start. In the end I was left dying for book 2 because I need to know what is going to happen after everything that went down in the final 30 or so pages. Disruption was a total surprise for me and I loved every minute of it.

Blog Tour: Disruption by Jessica Shirvington – Q & A

I was lucky enough to get to read Jessica Shirvington’s newest book Disruption (out now) a few months back and I fell in love. So when I was given the opportunity to interview Jessica I jumped on it.

  • With all of the technology in the world changing, what feels like daily, Disruption is a concept that is very relevant. How did you come up with this idea for a book that is so now?

The idea for Disruption started with a funny conversation I had with a friend. She was telling me all about her internet dating experiences and I was laughing as we walked through a busy city area. Everyone around us had their heads down, on their phones, and I said, ‘Wouldn’t it just be easier if we got some kind of alert or text message to tell us when we walked by someone who could be a good match!’ It was such a random thought, but it stayed with me that day and the next until I started to think about how something like that could actually be a possibility. That led to the idea of combining microchipping, smart phones and pheromones… (It sounds really weird but it all worked out!).

  • Maggie is after revenge from the get go and wants it at any cost. Was it hard to write her and her motivations, especially after Quentin was brought into her life?

Maggie’s personality and motivations were what drove the story, without those traits and purpose I can’t imagine how the story would have turned out. Therefore, staying true to her character was always my main priority. Sure, there were times I wanted to shake her or gently point her in a new direction but Maggie is really strong so there was never any genuine way, other than to let her story play out in the way it did. When Quentin comes into the picture, he challenges her in a new way. It starts to create cracks in her armor but she doesn’t just crumble – that’s not Maggie’s style.

  • Speaking of Maggie and Quentin…holy chemistry! How did such a great love-hate romance come to fruition?

The elements of the above question also answer this question in many ways. Maggie has a purpose, one that defines her and one that she will not put on the backburner, will not sacrifice for anything or anyone else. She has worked way too hard to let emotions get in the way now. So this created a great dynamic between Quentin and Maggie.

Likewise, Quentin is a strong person too. He is moral and loyal but he isn’t a fool and he won’t be pressured or swayed easily. The push/pull between the two characters was a lot of fun to write.

  • I know the sequel, Corruption, has been out in Australia for some time. With it still months away from the US release, what can you tell the US readers to expect for the second half of the dulogy?

Corruption sees a great progression for the characters. So much has happened and their lives and hearts are forever altered. They now need to deal with the reality they are faced with. They must admit failings and take responsibility but they must also find courage and press on. The challenges that are before them are huge and they quickly discover they don’t even know half of what has been going on behind the scenes.

  • I ask this question in every interview I do. What is the one piece of clothing or accessory you couldn’t live without?

Jeans. I have a heap of them. But my standard blue skinny jeans are my go-to wardrobe choice. I’d be lost without them!

It’s been barely two years since her mother’s death, and because her father eloped with a woman he met online, Jessie has been forced to move across the country to live with her stepmonster and her pretentious teenage son.

Julie Buxbaum mixes comedy and tragedy, love and loss, pain and elation, in her debut YA novel filled with characters who will come to feel like friends.
