Welcome to the newest feature on Andi’s ABCs, Book a Date, a post about something you are excited for that is releasing in the future. It can be a TV show, a movie (in the theater or out on DVD), a clothing line, a video game, a graphic novel, and of course a book. Actually it can be anything you want. Today we have me doing the first Book a Date post to get us going.
What date am I booking? June 2nd, the day I head to NYC with Gail for the weekend.
When BEA changed their prices and there guidelines for press pass I knew I would not be able to go this year. I was super sad because I love going to BEA. Some of you will be surprised to know that I don’t love going for the books (which are a nice perk), but I do love going and seeing people I talk to on a daily basis but never get to see. BEA two years (Part 1, Part 2) ago was one of the best times. I got to hang out with so many people and see so many friends I was super sad that I wasn’t going this time around. But then I got a text message from Gail asking if I want to go to NYC the weekend after BEA? I immediately wanted to say no because of cost, but once that was worked out I was 100% on board. So now there is the chance I will get to see some of my people I wouldn’t get to see (the ones that are at least there for the weekend anyway) and maybe attend BookCon (I know I said never again, but I’m tempted because of the change they made and it only being $35). Other than that it will just be a fun weekend in the city that I have loved to visit for a long time.
So if you are going to be around that weekend, tell me and maybe we can hang out.

Yay! Hopefully I’ll get to see you when you’re in NYC! I’m still unsure about BEA as well since I can’t seem to get the time off of work :-/ which is why I’m also maybe slightly considering BookCon even though I very much disliked it in the past.
*cries because I can’t go*
