Card Crafting with Jennifer

Jennifer came to me with an idea about creating a crafty, card making post for each other’s blog. Since we are both card making book lovers it was perfect. So come and say hello to Jennifer from YA Book Nerd and check out her Etsy shop when you are done.

Andi and I are teaming up to showcase each other’s work. We both make handmade cards, but we have different styles. Card making is addictive, once you get going, it’s hard to stop.

How I got started: one Christmas season, I decide to make the cards we send out. And I never looked back. I love making Christmas cards. It’s my favorite time of year, I put on some Christmas music and let my creativity flow. I just bought some new clear stamps and I’m excited to create something magical with them!

Here’s one of my favorites from last year

Because Halloween is my husband’s favorite time of year, I make Halloween cards too.

Andi’s gotten me hooked on washi tape – which is super fun to play with for cards.

She also introduced me to the Misti Mini which helps me create cards like these:

This is the first one. How you bean?

And then I went a little crazy with some Paris card making. Can you tell that I adore Paris?

As you can see, I’m addicted to stickers, washi tape, stamps, and pretty paper. That’s what I use in the majority of my cards. Sometimes I use embossing powder for that special pop. I have a slice machine and sometimes craft special objects with that.

But I’m always happy to test out new ideas, which is why I love following Andi. She makes awesome and colorful cards.

A few years ago, I created an Etsy shop for my cards and other crafty items. I make earrings and some other jewelry. And because I love Christmas so much, I paint some ornaments and make gift tags too.

Please give my shop a look

If you like my cards, earrings, or Christmas items: here’s a small code: ANDIABCS10 that will give you 10% off.And check out my blog: https://yabooknerd.blogspot.com/ to see Andi’s fabulous cards.

Cards by Andrea S. – New Stock

Last week I posted about a sale I’m having in my card shop, Cards by Andrea S., where you can save 15% off your purchase. (You can find details HERE.) With the code winding down I thought I should add some new stock.

What did I add you ask (okay, maybe you didn’t, but I’m showing you anyway)? Well I added these new gems:

The fruit cards  there is an option to buy 2 for a discounted price and that is before the 15% off. And the Boston and NYC skylines there is a custom option to change the color if you would like. Slowly but surely more and more will be added.

I’m not gonna lie, starting an Etsy store is a slow process. It is hard to get word out and to get people to buy and set reasonable prices for what you do. But I love it so I keep doing it. If there is anything you would love to see in the shop that you would want to buy, just tell me and I can work on it.

So what do you think of the new addition?

What kind of cards will you see at Cards by Andrea S.? Here is a sample:

If there is a specific card you need you can always message me and we can work it out. 🙂

Cards by Andrea S. Page

The day has come and I now have some of my cards live and up for sale.

I know, it’s crazy it has taken me this long but I wanted to have some kind of stock to sell. I don’t have a ton (the people at work bought 19 cards the other day) but I have some. The page will come down when I have nothing left to sell and will be updated with anything new I add. It has been a lot of fun making a bunch of random cards and I hope you love them all.

Here are a few you will find for sale:

Make sure you check out my new page HERE.

Champagne Wishes and Crafty Dreams 21: Recent Cards

Admittedly since my 15 Cards in 30 Days challenge I haven’t made too many cards. Truthfully I have been on a reading binge. First I devoured A Court of Wings and Ruin. Then the Mayhem series by Jamie Shaw came into my life. Because of those books I was more interested in words than glue and stamps. But I have managed to make some (with 2 I can’t show you yet). Here is a look at 6 cards I have recently made:

This one is not my favorite of the bunch. I tried my hand at a watercolor background for the first time. In truth I don’t hate it, but it is something I need to definitely work on.

When I got the April Hero Arts monthly card kit I was inspired by all the fashion and girly images. I had a lot of fun creating this one and I look forward to doing more with this set.

Because of the card above I was inspired to try to find a way to use both of those images again. Originally I stamped these both like this on scrap paper but then an Idea formed and this card was born. It actually is one of my favorites.

I recently watched a Youtube video that used a Snow Marker to make the foam on beer. I was immediately inspired and bought all the products to make one for someone close to me. He’ll love it…I hope. Now I want to use the snow marker on ice cream cards.

I don’t do a lot of prayer/sympathy cards, but I couldn’t not get this stamp from Unity Stamps. It is just so gorgeous and fun to color and come up with designs for. I have so many different things I want to try to do with it, but for now I love this pink combination.

And lastly I made my mom her Mother’s Day card and she loved it.

What do you think of my cards? Any favorites?
