Mini Reviews #13 – Holiday Books 2.0

Mini Reviews #13 – Holid..

Here are a few brief thoughts on some Holiday book reads: After reading and loving 2 Tessa Bailey books this year I knew I needed to read Window Shopping when I first heard about it. It seemed like a fun Christmas story about redemption and second chances with a little dash of the movie Mannequin. And truthfully it was exactly that. What I didn’t consider was that it was a short book and with a short book comes things not getting to be fully resolved and a lot of instalove happening. Don’t get me wrong, the story was fun and […]

Review: Riggs – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Riggs – Sawyer B..

When Riggs was first introduced in one the the Arizona Vengeance books I was intrigued by his story. Off the bat Riggs was mysterious and aloof and you could tell he had a story to share. What that story was I had no idea, but I was excited to find out. So when book 11 of the Arizona Vengeance series was announced to be Riggs I was very very happy. And after reading it I’m thrilled with what we got as fans of this hockey team. Riggs is a hockey player on the Arizona Vengeance team. He shows up, plays […]

Review: Well Matched – Jen DeLuca

Review: Well Matched – J..

When I started Jen DeLuca’s Well Met series in 2019 as a buddy read with a friend I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. Renaissance Faires aren’t really my thing but the book, Well Met, sounded cute enough, and it was, but it wasn’t a favorite. Some of it didn’t work for me. But I did enjoy it enough to want to read book 2, Well Played, and I ended up liking book 2 a whole lot more. So when Well Matched was coming I was excited to see how I would feel about the last companion. Happy to […]

Mini Reviews #12 – Holiday Books

Mini Reviews #12 – Holid..

Here are a few brief thoughts on some Holiday book reads: I really enjoyed The Holiday Swap. It was a cute holiday book that reads like a Hallmark movie. Cass and Charlie may have been identical twins with a penchant for baking, but they were complete opposites on how they lived their lives. Switching places definitely helped them both get out of ruts they were in and to see what they could have been missing. I really enjoyed the growth of both characters as they settled into their new situation and environment. It did have some confusing parts at the […]

Review: Defy the Night – Brigid Kemmerer

Review: Defy the Night –..

In 2017 I fell in love with Brigid Kemmerer and her writing. I picked up one of her books, Love Letters to the Lost, at 7am one day and by the end of that night I was done, while working a full day. Her writing grabbed me immediately and I never turned back. Since then I have devoured 5 other books by her and have loved them all to pieces thinking she could never get any better. And then I read Defy the Night. This book, to me, is by far Brigid’s best work and I’m obsessed and head over […]
