Briefly Romantic (8)

First and foremost, How Sweet It Is was a super fun read. It had all of the elements I love in a romance like the quirky meet cute, the misunderstandings, the adorableness. Drake and Kate had such a solid chemistry I yearned for more of them. They played off each other really well and it made reading their story a fun time. I also loved the awkward situations they both kept getting into with the other. It added a fun lightness to their story and was woven in really well with the plot. With that said I didn’t love how […]

Review: Life’s Too Short – Abby Jimenez

Review: Life’s Too Short..

I’m gonna be straight with you, I am an Abby Jimenez fangirl. I can’t help it. If she writes it I fall head over heels for it. She just has a way of bringing in humor and joy in the most serious of subjects making the hard stuff not seem so heavy. And this is exactly what she did with Life’s Too Short, just adding more fuel to my love of all things she writes. It was a mix of friendship and common interest. But it was also a story about grief and being left behind. It’s about how you gone on after a part of you is gone. And in the end I really enjoyed about 93% of it. I loved the story and the writing. And I loved how the fictional books were woven in to tell the story. I did struggle […]

Review: Paradise Cove – Jenny Holiday

Review: Paradise Cove – ..

I’m a Jenny Holiday fan girl. There is no point in denying it. When I first met her writing with her Bridesmaids Behaving Badly series I knew I was going to be a fan for a while. There is something so right about the stories she tells and each book in the series got better and better. And honestly the same has happened with the Matchmaker Bay series. While I enjoyed Mermaid Inn, I have fallen completely head over heels in love with Paradise Cove. Nora and Jake’s story was beyond my expectations and I’m going to tell you why. […]

Review: The Boyfriend Project – Farrah Rochon

Review: The Boyfriend Project ..

Every once and a while I have a friend that I do a buddy read with. We both love romances novels so we tend to pick one we both plan to read around the same time and read it together. Normally what we do is read 5 chapters and chat about it, 5 more chapters and chat about, and so on. We have read about 3 or 4 books together this way and had a lot of fun so when we both were planning to read The Boyfriend Project we decided to do it together. And while we both agreed […]
