To win the job of her dreams, a relationship-prone journalist needs to learn how to stay single in this heartwarming and hilarious new romantic comedy from the beloved author of Lease on Love.

Lana Parker has never been single for long. After a disastrous break-up with her high school boyfriend, Seth Carson, Lana's bounced from long-term relationship to long-term relationship. She's an expert girlfriend, even acting as the resident dating and relationship columnist for one of Los Angeles's trendiest websites. But now, at the age of thirty, Lana suddenly finds herself single again, and she's determined to stay that way, no matter how challenging.

That is, until her high school ex, Seth, now a journalist in his own right, takes an assignment at Lana's site. Ready to put down roots after years of traveling and freelancing, Seth becomes not only Lana's colleague but also her competitor. With their combative relationship history--and undeniable chemistry--they quickly find themselves pitted against each other in a battle of wits: writing an article series that goes against dating type. For Lana, that means writing about staying single and embracing it. For Seth, it's learning to settle down and become boyfriend material. Whoever's is most popular wins a highly coveted columnist spot that either could only dream of. But when the two square off against one another, it's not only their careers on the line--it's also their hearts.

I was a fan of Falon’s debut, Lease on Love so I was really excited to read Just My Type. Second chance romance can be hard for me but Falon hit it out of the park with this one! It was sweet and touching and sexy and just amazing! Seth and Lana had the best chemistry and I didn’t want their story to end. I loved seeing them once again find that connection they had while competing in these challenges assigned to them as some kind of competition. They both started to realize what they wanted and were looking for in a partner/relationship. It was perfectly done and it just left me wanting more of this story and these characters. I seriously can’t wait to see what Ballard has in store for us next!

Briefly Romantic (13)Cannon by Sawyer Bennett

Cannon West left his hockey playing days behind to care for his dying wife but has since found success on the other side of the bench. Now, as the youngest head coach in league history, he’s hoping to lead the Pittsburgh Titans to a winning season. The last thing he’s looking for is a relationship, but life sometimes takes us in another direction.

The Pittsburgh Titans are still working to move on from the tragic plane crash that forever changed the landscape of their organization. Having lost my wife, I know all about grief and the guilt of survival which makes me uniquely equipped to take this team to the next level. From the very first time I stepped inside the Titans’ arena, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be.

New to town, I’m still establishing my routine, but I have the most important aspect under control—the coffee shop where I stop on my way to the arena every morning. A strong cup of java and the gorgeous manager who I can’t help but chat up is quickly becoming my favorite way to start the day. But no matter how much I enjoy the blush that stains Ava Cavanaugh’s cheeks with my admittedly awkward attempt at flirting, I know it will never be more than brazen banter with a new friend. My job consumes almost all my time, and I know firsthand what that level of commitment can do to a relationship.

That doesn’t mean I’m not open to some fun. My career comes first, but Ava understands my boundaries. The only problem is that once I give into her temptation, the rules I set for myself become blurred, and my mixed signals hurt Ava—the one thing I promised I wouldn’t do. I’ve put myself in what seems to be an untenable situation, but I’ve faced those before. Now I need to find the strength to move past my fears, or risk losing my second chance at love with the woman who has stolen my heart.

If there is one thing Sawyer Bennet can write, it is a hockey themed romance. That is why I have been reading her books for a long time and how I’m already on book 6 of the Pittsburgh Titans’s series, Cannon. I was really excited for this one as I love the story of coaches/managers finding love and I was not disappointed. Cannon and Ava has been one of the better books in the series. These two had amazing chemistry. On paper they should not work, but they were perfect for one another. Both of them had pasts they needed to work through before they were ready for any kind of connection and watching them both do made for such a great read. Plus I really liked Cannon as a person. He was just a good guy outside of his hockey world. By far my favorite of the 6 books. Add to your TBR.

On the road to love, you don't need a GPS...

Carla Black’s life motto is “here for a good time, not for a long time.” She’s been travelling the world on her own in her vintage Jeep Wrangler for nearly a decade, stopping only long enough to replenish her adventure fund. She doesn’t do love and she doesn’t ever go home.

Eamon Sullivan is a modern-day cartographer who creates digital maps. His work helps people find their way, but he’s the one who’s lost his sense of direction. He’s unhappy at work, recently dumped, and his one big dream is stalled out—literally.

Fate throws them together when Carla arrives in Dublin for her best friend’s wedding and Eamon is tasked with picking her up from the airport. But what should be a simple drive across Ireland quickly becomes complicated with chemistry-filled detours, unexpected feelings, and a chance at love - if only they choose it.

I’m not really sure anymore what to say about Trish Doller’s books. It’s no secret that I have been a fan since Trish’s YA days so it is harder and harder to describe why I love everything she writes so much, but I’m going to try with Off the Map because it was AMAZING. Eamon Sullivan is the absolute best character she has written in a long time and I’m kind of obsessed with him. Having been introduced to him in Float Plan I was really excited to learn more about one of the Sullivan siblings and Trish delivered with Eamon. Not to mention how awesome he was with Carla. From the second they met they had a spark that they were unable to deny. They both had things they were working through, Carla with a sick parent and the effect that has on her life, and Eamon just unhappy with his job and life. But as they travel to Anna and Keane’s wedding they got to know each other and also got to know that you don;t have to be unhappy and that it’s okay to settle down if you find the right one. Basically you need to read this book, better yet, this series, if you haven’t! This is a must read for sure.
